We have developed this site over the last year since mid 2009. We initially focused on search engine optimization and aggregating quality content and making it easily accessible for visitors to view, discuss and rate. The content aggregation system is automated and tweaked, and the site requires about 5 minutes per day to optimize article tags and clear out spam comments.
It is powered by WordPress (free) along with several plug-ins and everything has been optimized to attract natural organic traffic that is relevant to the content of the site.
Traffic & Revenue
The traffic was light until about March 2009. Since then we have seen steady growth;
2009 April
1900 visitors, 2500+ page views, $109.22 revenue
2009 May
4800+ visitors, 7500+ page views, $225.91 revenue
2009 June
7073 visitors, 9966 page views, $346.41 revenue
2009 July
6977 visitors, 9824 page views, $569.11 revenue
SEO & Traffic Analysis
The site is well positioned in the search engines, with about 6400 pages indexed in Google and 950 in Yahoo.
In addition, the site content is promoted (again, in automated fashion) using social media. The twitter account @iphonesunlocked has 195 followers and is included as part of this site sale.
Overall, in 2009 so far, there have been 22,000+ visits from 176 countries, 81 % of which were from search engines using 9300+ different keywords.
The top 5 countries, by number of visits, are the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and India.
If Google PageRank is still relevant to you, well it's PR2 for this site.
Revenue sources
The revenue is from Google Adsense and the eBay Partner Network – there are also direct affiliate banners in rotation on the site. The numbers quoted above are only from the eBay & Adsense revenue and don’t account for possible (based on visitor cookies) further revenue from direct affiliate relationships.
Sale terms
We’re selling the name and site in order to finance other projects – this is a most promising site in terms of further growth (and revenue) for a market (unlocked iphones) that will only continue to flourish!
Payment terms are PayPal MassPay (verified and confirmed accounts only)… mandatory escrow for transactions over $5K with buyer paying fees.
