I love Undeveloped for it's simplistic and easy to navigate sales pages but I get a feeling that I may never get any offers from there, so I have set most of my nameservers to Sedo. So which is your marketplace of choice?Where do you get most of your offers/inquiries from?
p.s. Feel free to include any other method not mentioned.
Cheers.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
When some one gets an offer on Sedo and reports a sale I move my domains to Sedo.

Few days later another user reports a sale on Undeveloped. I delist on Sedo move my domains to Undeveloped.

Then a guy comes with xx,xxx sale on Afternic convincing me to move all of them to Afternic.

Then renewal comes and I drop them all.

.

lol,

yeah, that is basically the pattern with some domainers

where domain sales reports, hype and some propaganda, will move the crowd in one direction, then after the next report, they move again.

:)

imo....

Those three markets you mention are non-exclusive, so why not list at all three? Forget about using any of their landing pages (create your own), just upload your domains into their databases.

I bought some great names on sedo but not a fan of their 10k limit for unverifed users. But on the flip side since most users are unverified you can get some great names over the 10k mark.

Another Sedo success, bought at BIN yesterday morning lowish $xxxx. Payment received at Sedo within one hour.

Domain transferred within a couple of hours. Credit note issued by Sedo in the late afternoon. Payment received in my Paypal account this afternoon.

Sadly still no success with Undeveloped.

Looks like the Undeveloped "reject" offer button is a bit of a sale killer, can't see the point when the simple counter offer is almost the same thing and does at least usually get a positive increased response.

Last two starting offers were not increased after the counter was rejected, tyre kickers maybe. Moving more back to Sedo, maybe the remaining 40 or 50 may get a genuine buyer, give them another month is so.

Noob question here: can I list my domains on Sedo, Undeveloped, and Afternic while using Efty's landing pages?

Currently using Efty LPs which requires NS change so I can't edit TXT records, but I don't know about the others.

Edit: apologies for OP since I can't answer your poll now but I promise to give an answer when I have everything set up.

From the data that we have this is how the market looks like:

Undeveloped: 2,700,000 domains listed of which 710,000 parked

Sedo: 19,000,000 domains listed of which about 5,000,000 parked directly and a large number of names forwarded from other parking providers or home made landers (we can't track those).

Afternic: 13,000,000 domains listed of which 240,000 parked.

In terms of exposure, I think you're referring to the distribution engine that both Sedo and Afternic have. Since both companies started that model years ago it's impossible for new entrants like Undeveloped to compete on that front. Distribution parties have already integrated for example Sedo MLS and aren't keen to do a new integration as it's quite a headache to implement MLS.

Now Afternic is only performing so well in terms of sales because they are acquired by Godaddy and ever since that acquisition happened Godaddy kicked out all other marketplaces and only allows Afternics inventory to be promoted in Godaddy's search. As you know Godaddy controls a large piece of the market so that's why listing at Afternic is a good idea.

At undeveloped, we're working on an open domain pool to democratize access and promotion of secondary market domains to all instead of building closed networks like Sedo and Afternic. You can learn more about the Domain Pool here:

We invite everyone to join this open network to increase liquidity in our market for all. So that's our attempt to get in that market but with an open model in mind.

I always advice, all our sellers to list their names on any marketplace they'd like to work with. We don't demand any exclusivity as it's our goal to get you more sales not just to increase our own bottom line. But the best setup is to use our for sale pages in combination with leveraging the distribution engines that other marketplaces have in place until the Domain Pool is live and adopted as the standard network.
Thanks for this detail information really an eye opener to me

We have tried it all our own parking pages, sedo ,afternic, parkingcrew, unireg, undeveloped and we found the best conversion rate was undeveloped so moved most our names across we are happy with paying 9% with far more sales :)

@Sedo has gone down hill fast in the last six months.

1) Removed the most effective parking pages.
2) Pages that remain are blank if visitor has an ad blocker.
3) Since the latest update / fiasco, parking revenue is down another 20%.
4) 70% drop in sales from last year.

I find it strange that no one is discussing godaddy. I have my domains on all marketplaces and by far most of my offers come from godaddy. Havent seen any activity from sedo....once in a while i get a sale from afternic but they are also owned by godaddy, IMO there is Godaddy and afternic and then there is everything else way down the line.

Yes. @Sedo is dead for most domainers

Just set up my domains portfolio listings as follows (with reasons in brackets):

Sedo: only a 'make offer' listing (their daily sales number isn't encouraging)

Undeveloped: 'make offer' listing + landing page (their landers are neat imo)

Afternic: 'buy now' listing (thought that since they are GoDaddy owned this means maximum exposure, correct me if I'm wrong)
