I know you can get a resellers kit if you want to host but basicly I want to if its possible to start you're own hosting like without a resellers kit, I dont knoiw if Im making sense like how do the big host companies get thier space and how do i get mine???

The big HOSTING companies have there own servers...
Now basically a server is a computer with a lot of Ram and a BIG harddisk...
You need a fast internet connection for a server...TR3 or something like that....

To start your own SMALL company without investing alot....

1. Get Apache from www.apache.org/
2. Install ASP/PHP {if u want ur hosting site to support that} in your pc
3. Download and install Zpanel {Its free...and its similar to Cpanel} from :

4. Get a domain and set that up
5. Start your own lil business

NOTICE
you will have to run your computer 24 hours a day
you probably want to have a fast internet...
You may wana get a good Firewall script to prevent hacking attacks

i didn't know you could start your own web hosting business from your own computer! haha. cool. i don't think people would want to be hosted on your own home computer instead of a real server though.

A home server requires more effort and more money. A dedicated server from a well known datacenter is much cheaper and more reliable than a home server.

Hi,
It all depends on what your personal requrements are, like, do you want a powerful/fast server or just something to start off?. I think another thing to take into consideration is "how much do you know" i say that because you can get Dedicated servers that YOU run or you can get Managed servers, this is where the datacenter install software for you etc etc. I would recommend starting small, go for a managed server, that way if anything goes wrong it can be soerted out pretty much right away, then once you gain more and more experience, move up a level to a bigger server. Once you have enough confidence then you can get a self-managed server. As for hosting from your own computer, that is a no no in my book, because your alot more prone to attacks also, what if you have a power outage? and you need a very fast connection, i think the lowest you could go is T1 connection.

Okay first of all dweeb....a webserver is bascially a big harddisk with alot of RAM...
Now if you want to invest alot in ur hosting stuff...then buy a ready to go server...but if u want to save some money then start with your computer

Then keep adding HARDISKS and Ram into it as ur service grows...n here u go u have a big server now

A computer wid a big hardisk and a bad looking cover {or no cover} is the same as a "server" wid a fancy looking cover....
