It is bad to put two common terms together for a domain name? I think it is easy to remember, but then, I am new, so I am not sure if it a good idea to do so.

Or I should have something more unique?

But those companies spend millions on branding their domains. So I suppose you're a millionaire?

I just tried to find some common words which are not compatible with each other, and they were all registered for as much as 10-15 years already, by domainers. I guess I'm not feeling in a creative mood today. But it gives you hope that if you find something, then you too can hold a domain for 10-15 years without a sale :gl:

Good point! I am new to this, and I never thought of it. I guess common words aren't good idea then.

Edit: never mind, it was silly of me to ask that question.

If you find two common words which are compatible (as opposed to not compatible with each other) with each other and still available for registration. I'd first look at archive.org to see if it had been registered before. I'd use Bodis's domain check to see if it was a primary or secondary (banned domain) and I'd use MajesticSEO to see if there were any useful backlinks. If all looked reasonable, ie especially not banned, I would spring the regfee for a gamble. But it is very rare for me to even look for such a domain, and even rarer to actually find one available.

Compatible or Not Compatible, example. I'd say BlackGuns.com the words are compatible, but PurpleGuns.com the words are not compatible. Maybe not the best example, but the best I could come up with on the spur of the moment.
