I have spent lots of time browsing through a Chinese domain auction site. I located a two character .com name for sale. Could you experts please tell me how much I should offer? The name is something like d9.com. Please I am in a hurry! Thanks very much.

It is amazing that so many good names are owned by Chinese people, such as netshop.net, certain.info, etc etc. I even located a guy that wanna sell some two character .org names, but he has changed his idea now, a great pity!

Thanks very much biggie!!

What would be the true value of it? I mean can I sell it for a higher value if I bought it for 2.5k?

i doubt that they would sell for 2.5k, but if they did, you could acheive great profits!

i only mentioned that fiqure to "get the ball rolling" on negotiations

100% agree with biggie.
Maybe can you begin with 1.5-2k, i doubt they don't know the value of their 2 chers domain name but who knows.
Then you will have a bigger move possibility.
Good luck.

2-letter names like ZT.Net and similar are calling for $2k - $2.5k from among the reseller community.
2-character .com's might not generate any more unless they have special significance - I've recently seen a 2-character .com AND .net offered for under $2.5k for both!
D9 generates 302 on Overture and 936,000 on Google so that's not bad. However finding a retail customer is the challenge in generating a good profit from the name and if you can't it's back to selling to resellers.
I would be inclined to start with an offer well below $2k and see what develops.
Just my personal opinion.

I don't believe "D9" is the EXACT domain here ... but, theoretically, the hypothetical of a two character .COM offer. Of course, the exact combo will make a difference ... but I'd agree with the others, pitch it for $500.00 and see what happens. You've got nothing to lose, really. There are enough combos to pitch this offer to, someone is bound to either accept one, or continue negotiations IMHO.
Go for it, and please come back here with your success story! :)
See 'ya.

If it's a two character .com, I've seen them go for between $1400 and $2500 among resellers.

$1k and up!

btw: you may want to share the whois data with someone on this forum that you trust [RJ?]. He may know the reseller of the domain you are interested in. Also do a search on the various forums to see if it has been offered for sale. :)
