Twitter acct and .ca of Political Candidate Hacked - Kelowna BC

Sharon Shepherd who had just announced her intentions to run for Mayor has had her old Twitter
account and her expired domain hacked.

Apparently it was registered in May after she let it expire
and up until yesterday it was used as a political sabotage sire
and the tweets from the old account were used for the same thing!

Strictly speaking, only the Twitter account was hacked. Her expired domain was legally purchased. I hope this serves as a lesson to people to be sure they check all their email contacts for things like Twitter before letting a name expire.

A couple years ago I was chasing a very nice name from a UK company, but they said it was vital to their brand. The registrant contact info was all on a deleted domain. I pointed out that anyone could simply register that domain, set up the same email used for the domain and transfer the domain to themselves. And they still didn't do anything about it.

True enough about the registration, ya snooze ya loose

however up until 2 days ago it had all kinds of crap up there about her,
so I'm guessing that will be the real issue with the RCMP, instead of the expired excuse.
I only saw a bit of the previous website on the news.
