I'm fond of the TLD myself. My best domain sale so far was a .TV domain name. I also have joy.tv and smarter.tv, et al.

.tv is Tuvalu, don't forget.

I own Funafuti.tv - the capital city of Tuvalu. Plus several others.

I don't own any .TV's yet. Just not too sure if it's a good investment; the registration prices are high :| .

You make it sound like it's a restricted ccTLD when in fact it is open to all, and you can market any .TV name any way you like.

Not sure about .TV? Plasma.tv sold on Great Domains for $25,000.

I was personly surprised how many big companies are adopting these (and how they are becoming rapidly accepted as the domain for Television, in the UK anyway)... In the uk Channel five has adopted five.tv as its main domain name (even though it has channel5.com), also alot of legal and financial firms have adopted .tv as their main domain (those that are pushing their online service through tv adverts that is).

The way I look at it the cost of buying a domain at what we would call a good price (x,xxx to xx,xxx) is nothing compared to a television ad capaign - this one is definatley down to luck, but if you get a one that one of these groups want you should be able to get a very good return. IMO :cy:

Also can see effectiveness of your TV campaign

If you have cheaploans.com but avertise on the TV cheaploans.tv it
is one way to measure the effectivness of your TV campaign by
and also perhaps specific adverts you place in the press. So it
has its uses.

I'm discovering new developed .TV domains every day. I was just watching Motor Week on PBS, and they mentioned the licenseplates.tv website. Cool stuff. The future is bright for the namespace.

As always, IMO.

I recall Ireland.tv (or is it Wales.tv?) was sold at five figures too.
China.tv was sold at six figures.
And of course you can still register USA.tv from http://www.tv for $100,000.00 / year

I own pokers.tv

I am found of .tv and have some of them in my portfolio (Videos, Tourism, Gun, Vice, charm, ...) sharing with our two names, Equity78, the Afternic ShowCase : DVD. :)
.tv is the sole meaningful & internationally recognized extension, powerful acronym, it is growing slowly but surely, be patient it is a very good investment !
