Yes, but not just yet...
Namenut,
Everything kicks off from Friday night/Saturday morning - I will try to come up with a list that will include a set of very basic proposals - and all potential investors will
a.. vote on the listed suggestions
b. everyone may add suggestions that I did not include and then vote on those too......
That should help set our sites in the right direction.....please take into account I am in no way a leader in this project, rather a facilitator - I am happy for anyone to get in touch with me to throw their ideas in the pot right now and I can include them upfront on friday night......
So namenut - please hold off on suggestions till Friday night - I will post the initial list at around 10.00 pm Phoenix time - and everyone can post their thoughts and suggestions too - and hopefully by Monday morning - we all will feel comfortable with the roadmap ahead......
Dont forget namenut, I think if we manage to get one joint venture in total between all of us - it will be a massive accomplishment....the main emphasis will be on pooling resources to develop our sites individually......but yes, it would be exciting if we could come up with one super site to be run in conjunction....we may decide to go for a new name - or we may go for one of our existing names....time will tell.....
ad all investers

More and more I'm liking the super site (hub site) idea. We put up something strong enough to build off of. Until the super site is a culmination of our individual sites. We can grow our own sites into or along with the hub/super site.
I have a proposal or suggestion for the first site. I have a list of available dot TV names I suggest we buy.

Are we going to threads.tv for this?
And thanks for the history of the previous venture....
I am hoping that one of us with a legal background ( i have no idea whom that could be DOTTV!!) could set up an escrow account once development funds are agreed. And yes, scripts and database, software, anything that we are able to throw in the hat to offset costs will be one of the main reasons this project will be attempted - pooling every type of resource available to us....I know we have already helped one member offset some development costs.....and we have not even started yet!!
And finally Equitys last point - this project will be expensive even with doing a lot of projects - agreed, absolutely - we are not going in with Walmart purchasing power...it will still cost us good money - everyone needs to realise this - but that is not to discount the fact that as a group we will be listened too more seriously and given more for our money than going it alone.......also, we may find that we like one of the projects web sites so much - we could template a few - a substantial saving.......

What some were referring to about tried before was nothing like this. There was a discussion about forming a coop to pool funds and buy a premium domain and run as a corporation. From 5 it went to 4 a s one persons other company was doing a lot of business and they were too busy. From there we just did not come up with an agreeable domain and business plan. Funny thing we offered
www.tv $10,000 for KIDS.tv no reply it sold for $10,000 in the HRTS AUCTION. After that everyone bought some premium domains and from there we discussed and Westblock and I fomed an LLC so it worked out fine, everyone learned alot and some were just looking to put some money into a project I was really looking for a business partner and glad that Lance and I formed an LLC. So it worked out there was never an intention to share costs for individual projects two separate ideas.
I think your plan looks good and good luck with it SHARED costs makes a lot of sense and just so long as everyone puts a deposit upfront so you are all protected makes sense. I would open an escrow account for the initial deposit so everyone protected. Also think about a firm is going to work one project at a time Millers you were right in suggesting limiting the amount of projects. Decide which site will get built first and why. Someone else mentioned knowing databases and scripts that will save money because if you give the whole project to a firm they will be expensive even with doing a lot of projects.
