Hello All

Just thought I would log on to let you know that I’ve just sold the name Three TV.com for $1800

This was certainly not my first TV.com sale this year as I recently sold Winchester TV.com for $1500

No big shakes on either name, but the reason I point this out is two-fold...

Firstly, many people have been persuaded by the naysayers that TV.com is a no-hoper (yet, at the same time saying .com beats .TV any day). My advice is that TV.com names are VERY viable.

Secondly, it appears that an acceptible level of exchange price on a good quality TV.com is around $1500 to an end-user.

We are not entering, but have actually arrived in the internet TV age and as we are slowly slipping out of recession I personally am noticing an increase in offers. Yes, most are still lowball domainer to domainer stuff. But there is an increase in quality end-users.

Has anyone else noticed the start of a TV.com ‘moment’?

First congrats, second I am going to smack Lance upside the head next time I see him. He used to own threetv.com, I own eighttv.com and remember discussing that I liked one through ten TV.com.

I have sold a few Jimbo in the the $100 to $300 range now they were nothing special so $300 was fine. I sold DIXtv.com which is 10 in French.

The best handreg I picked up was BikesTV.com have had two $500 offers I think the name is worth more.

I never understand the liking of .tv but disliking of tv.com or vice versa. I think they work well together. Just did a write up on 4Kids entertainment. They regged 4Kids.tv and 4Kidstv.com the same day in 2004. The .tv is ranked above the tv.com in Alexa.

Congrats on the sale. Yep, sold it for $75, so very nice return.

I've always liked tv.com names, collected a bunch, and have sold a few for up to low $xxx. I've dropped a number of them over the last 6 months, but still hold a few I believe will generate $x,xxx sales.

If you remember you helped me to buy the name as I had never purchased a name from another person before and didn't quite understand the process. I think between you and MillersCrossing you both eased me into namepros.

Should I thank you both - or send you the psychiatrists bill?

(a big thanks I think)

Everything is full circle - apparently the name originally belonged to the guy who bought the name from me - it's the name of his company - but he lost it after the first year because he didn't get the renewal system.

I think many here understand how difficult it is to get into domains at the start. I am particularly aware that the odd bit of assistance here and there goes a long way.

Last night I received a phone inquiry regarding a one-word .BIZ domain of mine. The caller already holds the TV.com equivalent. I do not hold any TV.com domains but I am yet to sell a .TV so in a holding pattern for now...
