The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
No it is a .tv forum, the forum has always stated to hedge your portfolio with tv.com and to use them as defensive regs to make prospects negotiate with you since you own both the .tv and tv.com. Another aspect is to use the traffic to a developed .tv site.

Hope you and your car all right.

i agree-we all hedge our tv names and think its wise that smash had asked this yesterday. I have keywords tv.com and and its a perfect way to spread your risks over. I am for this.

Now I am tiny bit worried of keyword tv.mobi gets started here and we get the mobi people over and there is a lot of crazyiness over the mobi thread. But in theory its another way of hedge of tv (I dont have any of this in that format) but there also being taken up just like .com, .net, org

We are still a dedicated .tv group. From my experiences .tv is the best area for me and I always enjoy the posters and peoples thoughts(well I had to place one person on ignore list this week lol ) but besides that issue its a great group here.

Cheers everyone and good luck on your hedges!

J

just a question from a .tv noob and a .com lover for the ones who own both .coms and .tv
Which ones receive more interest? The KeywordTV.com ones , or Keyword.tv? I'm talking prime one word keywords (like Soccer)

I currently receive more offers for my ???TV.com domains, of which I only own a few (Nightlife, Senior, Gossip, etc...). I do wish I owned lots of matching WordTV.com versus Word.TV sets in order to paint a better picture of the market. But we all know that more people are aware of .com than .tv and that's going to be the driving force behind offers right now. As .TV awareness grows, I believe many more offers will trickle down.

Based on current offers for .TV domains, more offers are pouring in from Europe and Asia than from the US. ???TV.com receives global offers. Please keep in mind this is all based on the domains in your own portfolio, but most importantly, imho, based on how accessible you make yourself to receive offers: links on your domains, correct contact info in your whois details, etc... without a means for communication, don't expect offers. I receive many offers a day (portfolio wide) all from whois contacts, by email and even more by phone. But you're on your own after the buyers have contacted you... negotiating a win/win deal is an art form.

Also, don't forget your own ability to cold call prospective buyers. Phone calls are much more effective than emails based on my own experience... but YMMV. i.e. for one of my GEO .tvs, I've been on the phone constantly (for over a month) letting people know I have the name available and the many options I'm offering. I'm trying to see how long it takes to build up a list of qualified potential suitors/partners from simply cold calls... and then I'll find a way to tap into my list and maximize/monetize it.

good luck to all.

Thanks for the info Rhee.
I'm not too much in a hurry to make a quick flip with these names. Just want to hedge my funds a bit. .tv is an extension I like, despite its renewal fees.
I'll explore this area more...maybe buy FootballTV.com :hehe:

not sure this is the right thread for this, but just found another developed tv.com site .... ManiaTV.com, looks pretty cool, and shows the direction of what is to come and is already here, .tv or tv.com , it all boils back to Internet Television!

Ok, I just did a search, seems mania.tv droped in june an TV corporation picked it up and it is now $500 year premium (big surprise).

some questions....

* Is TV Corporation a Demand Media shell company?

* I know $500 is negotiable, is it worth the reg with a site like ManiaTV.com
already online (in other .tv investors opinions of course)?

* Do you think a company like ManiaTV.com overlooked .tv, and if properly presented would see the need to retain the .tv extension, thus helping promote .tv in itself?

Just random thoughts......
