This is a domain I've had since 1995. I've had some interest in it recently so I thought I'd look into how much it's worth. It's worth a lot to me - it's been my company and my brand for my whole career.

Some obvious uses:

- music/mp3 store
- record label
- music gear
- magazine
- turntable manufacturers: Technics, Panasonic, Logitech, etc

Thanks.

Obviously a fantastic domain name and I think youve hit on some of the great genres that is out there. I think to add even extra value is that Music online has become big business, and will become (if not already) the primary means of monetization of Music.

I think this domain is almost the best it could be, but I believe a plural form - TurnTables.com would be better suited. However, this is a fantastic domain name, easily in the $35,000 + range without the attached site.

I am curious to know what kind of revenue the domain would generate without your site as the term Turn Table does have some decent overture score of 40,000 +

Nice domain...

If you get a right buyer you can get around $50K for it. However, there are very few music related businesses that are that well off.

Great name.

Would be a fantastic brand for a music downloads site.

"2,000,000 MP3s available for download at: www.Turntable.com "

Cool name.

Appraisals are hard...

An END USER will pay what the name is worth to their company.

To one company it might be $10,000 because they have many names to choose from,
or for another company it might be $100,000 because they HAVE TO HAVE that name.

I think $50,000 is a fair median...

If you hold out for an end user, you can do better, but who knows when that might come.

For everyone else that might buy it just to have it,
probaly $30,000 - $50,000

10k, if that unless you can show large PPC #'s or traffic.

Just my opinion. It is outdated term, and people would think why?

A good domain.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

I was definitely expecting the appraisals to be a lot higher, especially after seeing the estimates for Surfer.com (http://www.namepros.com/domain-appraisals/372709-surfer-com.html). Also, considering that so many more convoluted names commonly go for $20-50k.

Turntable has all the characteristics of a great domain: common word, easy to spell, etc. Plus, it has strong appeal in a very big market - music and entertainment.

If I were to sell it, my plan would be to post it up on Sedo (or would anyone recommend against that?). I'd also aim to get it on their GreatDomains.com site. Plus, I would notify likely interested parties (Technics, Logitech, Sony, Panasonic, even Microsoft) as well as people who have contacted me in the past.

Anything below $100k isn't worth it for me, so I would set a reserve of $100k, with a "buy now" (if such exists in the domain selling services) of $200k.

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
Philip

Its a very identifiable Music term, high ovt, tons of results. Though I'd think the application would be great for DJs/Event Companies/Pro Sound Equipment Manufacturers.

I'd think this would be mid $xx,xxx easy.

Good Luck

A good domain.

And thats one of the opinions that counts. Although Im surprised Bonkers you think its a 10k domain. And im not sure I think the term is as outdated as you may think. Turntables are coming back in digital form....
