I don't think that KI will make people think of Kangaroo Island in general, although maybe in Austrailia.

It's far too random to hold any value undeveloped.

I assumed you had purposely omitted a letter, had it been "travel kit" I would've thought it was a damn good name, what you have here though simply leaves me confused.

Does Ki (sp?) have a information or travel center? As I believe that is your best bet of picking up some change for this domain.

Kangaroo Island is not abbreviated as KI over here so I think you will struggle

Kangaroo Island IS abbreviated to KI in South Australia, the state where it is located.
That said, Australian companies will generally opt for a .com.au and thus, you'll need to find another use for it, try kodiak island in Alaska, the .com makes more sense there anyway.

Travel domains are in general strong, but this one is hard to sell for a decent price to resellers so go directly for end-users in the two areas mentioned above and potentially search for more areas that fits the KI abbreviation.
