Transfer/DNS Question

Hello,
If I have a domain at GoDaddy pointed to let's say a.web.com and b.web.com and then I set my domain default namservers at Moniker to a.web.com and b.web.com. Then I transfer the domain from GoDaddy to Moniker, will there be any down time, or will it immediately point to the site with no propgation time?

I think, you have an option during migration to keep the existing name server records to avoid down time
