Traffic Cpm Stats Question For Advertising Revenue

I am looking to start a niche social networking site where the only form of income initially will be adsense/split with the host provider.

But I obviously want the site to become more successful, can anyone help me out here...how does it work??

I first have to reach an important monthly unique traffic milestone (such as 50,000) and then I try and get relevant advertisers???

SO for instance, if my social network is for people who are into hunting, I work my ass off to increase membership so that I can reach a certain goal and then I approach one of the big hunting equipment companies and get them to banner advertise on my site.....

What revenue can I expect to get from that with lets say 50,000 uniques a month....and is 50,000 uniques enough to interest a big hunting firm???

i think 50,000 uniques a month would probably do it for alot of big companies. as low as you have a flow like that for every month then i'm sure they'd be more then happy to purchase Ad space. also i'm not really sure what they would be paying you, you'd have to work out a contract.

Anyone else know how it works with the advertisers - what sort of annual fee would they pay for 50,000 viewers a month - in an industry such as hunting......is there some sort of MATRIX that I could use as a guide to expectations???

Prices will always vary depending on the current demand for ad-space in your topic at the time.

Well I think the best thing is develop everything first then just immerse yourself in the culture of getting web traffic posting here is a great start. What may work for someone else may not work for you
