Trademark Question

Watch
I am writing a letter of protest for a trademark application and I am stuck on the signature part of the section.

My options for signature method are:

-to sign directly
-email text form to second party for signature
-Handwritten pen and ink signature

See page 6:

http://www.uspto.gov/sites/default/files/documents/LOP.pdf

I would like to enter an electronic signature, but it is asking for a name between two forward slashes.

Any feedback or direction would be really appreciated - I don't understand this at all :?:

Thanks!

They are asking you to sign the document.

You are allowed to put any alpha numeric characters you want.

That means letters a-z and numbers.

You can also just put your name.

They are saying you should put this in between two slashes - for example /john doe/ or /e8dje9dj/.

It does not matter, just pick something and enter it as your signature between the 2 forward slashes.

The easiest thing is to just sign it electronically.

I recently sent a letter of protest & a C&D on a TM application.

USPTO requested more information from them, and they abandoned the TM.

So the process works, good luck to you.

Thanks :) I did one about 5 years ago and the TM was abandoned - yes, the process works. The submission format is totally online and much different than five years ago. I am struggling with the legal jargon, but hopefully I will be finished this in the next week or so.
Congrats, on your successful protest!

Do you have to print out this form, fill it up and then scan and upload it on the UPSTO.gov website?

I am unable to select any of the checkboxes on that page or type into any of the fields.

I believe that page is a .pdf, you have to go into the actual wizard:
