Trademark issue?

I was not sure about this one but I grabbed it anyway, may grace delete it.

I was reading about a competition the other day and the winning proposal of the competition, an idea for a type of futuristic boat, was not registered or trademarked.
It's only at the proposal stage right now and it is possible the boat will never be built even though it won the competition.

Trademark issue here?

If it isn't already trademarked. I'd take a punt on it. But you would stand openly accused because of this thread.

One barometer that could be used in assessing potential trademark issues is the motivation for the registration.

If the purpose of your action is to insert yourself into someone else's business, whether it is an established business or a new venture being launched, for whatever goal, then there is a very high likelihood of a trademark issue arising.
