I am a total noob to domain and realted stuffs. recently i changed the DNS of my domain from my previous host to another one. But its not changed yet, atleast that is what I see. I asked my regsitrar and they told me to consult my host. But when I reported this to my host he said he needs my traceroute to the domain..

I was thinking, is it safe to give out my traceroute to the domain to my web host.

Thanks.

If you use Windows OS, Run "cmd" (Press Windows+R).

Then, type "tracert yourdomain.com"

Wait and see the result.

Otherwise, using traceroute tool. Use Google, you can find many program for free.

It can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 days for a DNS change to propagate to routers on the internet. Also sometimes pages are cached on servers for quite some time as well and may not actually load the page, but a cached version.

Yes, it's safe to give out trace route info, as kukgle has shown you that anyone can do it. Probably they want to know the trace from where YOU are located.

You can check the current DNS at registry level:

http://iptools.com/dnstools.php?tool=dns&user_data=domain.com&type=NS (put your domain where highlighted in bold)

The old DNS info may be cached with your ISP.

PS: you can try
Code:
 ipconfig /flushdns
from the MS-DOS prompt to flush your own DNS cache (your computer).
