The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Surprised and relieved not to see any (dot)info's in the top ten list..

info = 6.8% bad (score 0.65)

.top continues moving up the charts for most spammy extension.. a few days ago its badness index was 5.34.. now it's currently 6.64. Will .top replace .download by the end of July?

On a sidenote, .gdn is now at #3. That was also a very rapid rise.

So .top will finally be .top at something. That's nice. :)

26 July 2016 update.. getting closer to the milestone.

.download Badness Index: 7.97
.top Badness Index: 7.24
While .top moves closer and closer to the top, it also looks like .uno is beginning the journey to spot numero uno--but can it top .top?

.top

Domains seen: 431,028
Bad domains: 221,331 (51.3%)

Can you imagine? I mean, think about that for a minute. Over HALF of the e-mail from .Top domains were shown to be "bad" and nothing but spam. 221,331 domains at least.

very good point Kate about the webforms.

as for .top and spam rate.. I think a .best would blow it away

I think that highlights the problems with giving away domains below 1$. It's like doing a deal with the devil. Your registration count will increase faster than any other TLD but your brand and reputation might take a hit that will be difficult to recover from even when you are #1. .xyz have the same problems.

Once you are perceived as a spam extension and get blocked the game is over. Hope they manage to avoid this.

I do not think that is a necessary completely true fact. Look at .xyz (which is even more affordable) compared to .top

xyz = 8.4% bad (score 0.93)
com = 6.2% bad (score 0.76)

top = 43.1% bad (score 5.36)

Spammers clearly prefer .top!

Just thought I'd post this:
us = 18.9% bad (score 1.83)
xyz = 8.2% bad (score 0.91)

yep, .xyz is actually looking pretty good now.

.top will likely pass .download in the next week or so to claim it's crown as a king of the spam charts

.uno is stable there a few months already... no any significant changes...

And .uno has just 22K+ domains as of today.
