There are 21 domain sales over $50,000 and 96 domain sales over $10,000 in March 2020. The most expensive domain sale was 151.com at $415,000. 12 of the top 20 sales are .com and there are 6 country code domains in the list.

We see one 3-digit domain name (151.com) and three 3-letter domain names this month. There are two domain names with .de and one with each .co.uk, .it, .be and .es.

Free.co.uk is the most expensive country-code domain name sale in this month’s list.

You can find the list and our detailed analysis in our blog post.

We started to analyze monthly top domain sales. We are looking at this data:
  • Previous sales
  • Similar sales
  • Registered extension count
  • Keyword popularity
  • Possible use-cases
  • The seller and buyer (if known)

Cool beans.
Kind of expected something pandemic-related.
Have any corona/covid-related domains been sold at all, or has that market been shut down since most registrars banned the aftermarket for them?

Really nice detailed analysis in the full blog post, including end use and comparator sales for some.
Thank you for this contribution to the domain world @Macit. (y) Is the plan to make this a monthly feature?
Thanks again.

I don't think there will be considerable pandemic-related domain sales.

Thanks, Bob.
Yes, we plan to publish a detailed monthly top domain sales analysis each month.
And a monthly domain industry report will also be coming (domain registrations stats, top keywords, top registrars, etc.) (y)

According to NameBio, there are 7 documented Pandemic domain sales. On the other hand, a quick search on the same site doesn't register any Coronavirus or covid-19 related domain being sold. It seems like the keyword Pandemic is the goat!

pandemichealth.com 2,688 USD 2020-03-31 BuyDomains
uspandemic.com 1,088 USD 2020-03-17 BuyDomains
pandemicalerts.com 1,088 USD 2020-03-17 BuyDomains
pandemicpreparedness.com 260 USD 2020-02-12 GoDaddy
pandemic.io 665 USD 2020-02-04 Park.io
pandemicpractices.org 160 USD 2014-09-26 GoDaddy
pandemicinfluenza.com 160 USD 2005-11-04 Afternic

Got it. Thank you.

Indeed. Probably related to it being banned on most registrars, and that I don't think NameBio indexes Epik.com for some reason (one of the few registrars that allows corona-related domains).

A NameBio search for "corona" only yields this btw:
coronawear.com 205 USD 2020-03-21 GoDaddy
coronatrack.com 250 USD 2020-03-19 GoDaddy

What's interesting is the huge number of domains registered related to this topic. dotDB shows:
"covid19": 21,879 regs
"coronavirus": 23,636 regs
