I received a lot of interest in a recent article I did about top domain sales of 2008 not developed. Because of the great amount of interest I wanted to do a follow up with all the domain sales I could find over $1,000,000.

Top Domain Sales Over $1,000,000 (reported)

Thanks for making the list.

There are a lot of private sales that would be at or near the top of this list.

There are also some sites that have been sold mainly based on the domain like Movies.com (17M) that didn't make the list.

My pleasure.

Yup, I'm sure there are a ton of private sales, but they are private :)

There are a bunch of domains that sold because of their site and traffic, didn't include those because I was just doing domain sales.

PS...datacube.com looks good.

Thanks for the comments on DataCube.com
I think most domainers have heard of the domain and figured I might at well put it to some use.

I thought Business.com sold for like $7M. Also, did the Pizza.com sale ever go through?

Beauty.cc sold for 1M?! D-: Amazing if accurate (disclaimer noted.)

If.com, Sky.com ,and Fish.com for 1M each are great buys :imho:

Most of these sites have no content on it. What the worth then!

Just because a domain has no content on it does not make it worthless motherknucker.

Domains can be sold for above reg fee because they have potential or they receive a lot of type in traffic. Content isn't everything although if done right can help tremendously.

When did this sell and for how much? Do you have a link to an article showing the sale? If so I'll get it added right away.

Just updated the list with HolidayInn.com reported by Sahar. Sold for $3,000,000 back in 1995.
