I've just launched what I believe is the first independent monthly barometer of the .fr (France ccTLD) drop-catching market, built entirely on AFNIC's public open data.
Why it matters: until now, anyone interested in expired .fr domains (SEOs, investors, brand-protection teams) had no clear visibility on which operators dominate the market. Each platform (Nicsell, Kifdom, WebExpire, Catched, etc.) communicates only on its own activity. This barometer consolidates the actual market shares.
April 2026 key findings:
β BloomUp (French) leads in volume with 23.7 % market share
β WebExpire has the largest theoretical capture capacity but ranks only 3rd in volume β tighter editorial selection than competitors
β Catched (US-based Edomains LLC) is sharply down at only 5.3 % of the .fr market β a noticeable retreat on the French extension
β Six operators concentrate 100 % of observable specialized .fr activity
