I received an cease and desist email from tmsecure.net claiming they represent some companies and want me to transfer my domain name to them b/c they believe it infringes on that company's trademark.

I have never heard of them and wondering if they are legit. I checked their whois and it appears that they just registered it in December 2008. Also, their site looks like it's copied from citizenhawk.

Anybody knows if they are legit?

Thanks,

A google search reveals nothing that would make it seem like a scam, but at the same time, it doesn't bring up anything related to what you have mentioned.

I would be careful.

The domain "tmsecure.net" just sounds like a scam.

Is the name a TM'd name?

It could be a scam. There are a few crooks around posing as TM enforcers. They just want to steal revenue domains.

First telltale sign: tmsecure.net has been registered in December
and it looks like a rip of this site: http://www.cscprotectsbrands.com/index.html

Before you hand over a domain, make sure you positively identify the other party.
You can try calling them (see the whois). They don't list any phone number in the contact section so it looks flimsy at best...
