If you have experience successfully selling domains on eBay, could you offer some tips to the rest of us?

Many domainers complain that they get very low bids or none at all on eBay. They conclude that eBay is not a good place to sell domains.

I've seen other sellers on this forum who claim to have made very large domain sales on eBay.

I'm getting ready to list some domains there and I'd appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.

hawkeye, I already read that thread. They are discussing whether their experience on eBay was good or bad. Some say it doesn't work for me, some say I made a lot of money. That's not what I'm asking for. I'm asking for people who have had success with it to share some tips.

I used ebay to clear out a lot of my CCC.com's and had some great success and some ok experiences. My one big one was 4rt .com (looks like Art.com) sold it for high XXX but most of my other CCC's went for below value. I was also lucky about having success with paypal (heard some horror stories with paypal and domaining recently). Its an Ok place to sell but now I sell 95% of my domains with sedo or Namepros.

As for tips, I usually started my auctions off low with no reserve to get a lot of people bidding on it and waited for (what seemed like) Ebay's monthly specials- 10 cent listings etc.

good luck, Gary.

Gary, thanks for those tips. It doesn't sound encouraging, but I'll give it a shot as an experiment, and see what happens.

Some Premiums do well on there - And many of those sellers actually buy adwords advertising going to the Listings , But overall - It's not a great place to sell domains IMO (As others have said). You can turn a profit on some domains by adding Related keywords / Phrases sometimes into the description ..... But dont do it to the point its obvious "keyword padding" or they may close the listing on you. I found years ago the ROI on Average domains just wasn't worth my time.
