Certainly a good start, We have a bit of catching up to do with the USA Geos, but i am sure UK and Euro geos will do well in the future.

Nice find!

Yup, got a few towns, a few slang names of towns, a few counties, a few footy teams...

Had them for a few years, they just lend themselves to the extension

Thats 1st time id seen SouthYorkshire.tv and it really excites me that UK Geos could be getting a push and some publicity if they are developed right.

I believe as soon as there is 2,3 really good Uk Geos and they get a little publicity then the UK market could explode.

My only UK Geo is Belfast.TV which i think is a great name ($500 year premium though) I will be developing it as soon as im done with my current project, if thing go right then i believe it can make me a nice income. :$:

Yes, very good to see this - first time I’ve seen it, and good for the development of the UK geo market. The only other one I’ve seen is York.TV which is really just a tv guide for a local York station (channel 54), but still nice to see them using .TV. There are also some UK country lifestyle TVs which are worth noting:

CountryChannel.TV (i have no association with either)
HorseandCountry.TV

Overall though the UK market is well behind the US, France, Spain and Japan. I’ve done quite a bit of research on the non-US markets and plan to write up a note about my discoveries. CarryOn

i dont think dot tv has much chance in the uk to tell the truth

Any reasons why you think that Hull mate??

I completely disagree and think the Uk is already getting into .tv, ever since 2 of our biggest TV Companies starting using .tv on every advert, program, webpage...etc then its been talked about often in UK (well in Scotland)

Here is 2 TV companies i was talking about:
GM.tv - MASSIVE Morning Tv Show
STV.TV - Scottish Television

We all see thing different but my view is that 1,2 more really good popular .tv's in UK and things will get moving with more companies using .tv and more aftermarket sales. :imho:

UK has been big in using .tv FIVE.tv as one example

UK has been big in using .tv FIVE.tv as one example

I forgot abour Channel5, they have been using .tv for a while now.

Look at all the Tv/Media Companies within Uk who are using .tv already and in so are helping .tv to be understood and accepted by the general public so they dont ask ".tv. whats that?" when i/we get round to launching our sites.

Bid.tv/ Cable Auction Tv Channel
Sit1.tv Online Tv Channel fronted/owned by the winner of last years UK version of "The Apprentice" Tv Show.
Solent.tv/ Tv Channel & website for Isle of Wight.
In.tv Irish News Television, not technically a UK .tv but close enough.

I could go on and on, the Uk is embracing .tv and with Media companies doing it early then the affect of constant advertising with _____.tv will surely see the extension to be accepted much easier.

Another way i continue to see .tv being used in Uk on TV is Loan, Credit, Mortgage Companies using a .TV domain on their Tv ads. Im not sure how it is outside UK but over past few years almost every block of adverts on Tv features an Advert saying "Do you need a loan, are you in serious debt & need to remortgage" and over past yr most of these companies have started to use .tv purely for their Tv ads.

The more research i do then the more keen i get on .tv's future in UK. Wish i had done some of this research a yr ago when i 1st got attracted to .tv and maybe i would own a few more Uk .tv's

** I thought id add a link to one more of UK based .tv's that has mass attraction: Liverpoolfc.tv/ Liverpool Football Club have been using .tv as their Homepage for a while now, in my opinion their site is excellent and is ideal way for .tv's potential to be shown to a whole new group of society who maybe are not the normal Internet users who read up on new domains/extensions...etc **

So in summary i think Uk has a not bad .tv future   :imho:

I absolutely disagree – my comment was specifically related to the UK geo use of .TV. dot TV is all over the airwaves in the UK, as already mentioned in comments above. I’ve seen poster ads for various .TVs, etc. A few weeks back I was walking around Central London and see a big sign for Sumo.TV – they had a large street level office a few blocks off of Oxford Street. No question TV is gaining mindshare in the UK. Perhaps you’re having buyer’s remorse for your recent premium purchases? If so beat the street and get some sponsors as they are great keyword geos for those local mkts, otherwise sit tight, develop and ride the trend. The trend is your friend. CarryOn
