I'm selling my site ThinkBeforePostingRubbish. Please take a look at it at www.thinkbeforepostingrubbish.com. Yesterday, we reached a peak of 997 visitors in one day. Most of our visitors are from other forums, in which people post the links when somebody posts something stupid. I have attached a screenshot of referrers so that you can see this. Yesterday, I earned $2 through Google Adsense. A small portion of our visitors come from our new affiliate program which offers a domain instead of cash. This was a great sucess, and helped us reach the peak point. There are currently three members who have reached the minimum payment of $10. The site owner will have to deal with them.

I'm generally looking for offers above $50, but I may sell below that amount.

Please offer through PM/posting.

There are currently 38 affiliates at the time of this post. I have recieved 15 new ones today. However, only 3 of the members are really active. Altogether, I am owing these affiliates $98 altogether. I'd also like to metion that this site includes a license of the PPC script we are currently using. So that you can see it in use, I've setup a dummy account.

Unfortunatly, I cannot allow you to login into our admin section to check things out for security reasons. You can View New/Held Members, View Active Members, View Members Above Pay Amount, View Admin Messages from the admin panel.

Is this a joke? I am one of the affiliates and Im making about $10-20 /day and have put up the link on many of my sites.

"The site owner will have to deal with them."
You know man, Its your problem until you have sold the site to deal with us. And if you cant, close the site and pay what you ows your affiliates.

If this is true, there's some serious "rubbish" there. Think....

If this is true you are losing money VERY badly every day!

If just ONE of your affiliates is earnign $10-$20 a day and you only made $2 yesterday.... well you do the math.

I think you should be banned for being a scammer.

I don't know, he has a trader rating of 17. We should wait for further explanation before hanging anybody.

$10 = 200 click on his link ($0.05 each click), right? So Im sending about 200-400 visits /day from my sites, and we can say that a avarage click on a ad is about 0.2% if even that much, so if he has 1000 visits in a day he gets about $2 each day, but for 1000 visits he pays about $50.

0.05 * 1000 = 50

Yea I could just take down the ad from my pages but I dont like when people act like this.

We'll have to wait and see what he says. I almost bought the domain myself. Luckily, I had to leave for work before he could respond and came back to see this thread had developed a bunch since this afternoon. Thanks, guys, for bringing up these points.

I doubt the clicks on the Google ads amount to even 0.02% seeing how the ads that are generated really do not interest many folks, especially a visitor to such a site. To boot, the price paid per click is most likely only pennies, but even if it is a buck a click, the ads are just not targeted to the visitor.

Just that fact that a copyrighted cartoon character is used on the site is enough to make me run away at this point to be honest with you. that would definitely have to go no matter how lovable old Bart is.

Seems like a neat idea gone terribly wrong.

If I am the new owner, I will pay up, however, the PPC rate would have to go down drastically after that. 5 cents is way too much to pay per click for a site like that. Not even sure if it is viable to pay anything at all, honestly. Perhaps a free domain per 100 clicks (and no cash option) would be more realistic, but I'm not too sure that even at that rate it would be worth my orf anyone else's time. Let's wait and see.

Phoog, if I do not buy the site I hope you get your money. You payment is past due by $10.00. Not good.

I wonder what the other 2 producing affiliates are owed at this point.

The reason I'm selling is because I can't, I'm not making enough profit. That's why I selling, so that somebody more skilled than me can hopefully improve the website so that it does make a profit. This is perfectly normal, just recently a resturant nearby where I live was sold, because they were losing moneym, and owed money to the bank. The person who bought the resturnat would have to pay the bank, and try to make a profit, which will take some time. Larger companies are often in a better position because of this.

I'm not hiding any information from you. I think I've made it clear how much I've earnt, how much affiliate fees, etc. Why should I be called a scammer? I don't like being called a scammer when I am not.

Sorry it took so long to reply to your PMs, and thanks for the generous offer of $30. Currently, it's a free domain per 200 clicks, so 100 would be easier. I do hope you buy my site, as I don't want to have to close down my site because of a silly mistake. I do hope I anwsered all your questions.

I think it would be best for you if you payed off your affilates, then sold your site. I think you could get a higher income if the buying knew they didn't owe anyone any money or have a debt just for purchasing your site. Take your losses and try to make up for them somewhere else.

I understand that you want to sell, but IF you dont get it sold you have to deal with your affiliates, just as the pizza owner would have done with the bank if he dident get his place sold.

I'm moving this thread to domain discussions, as given the circumstances, it is no longer a viable sales thread.

snareklutz, I hope you can get your affiliate payment issues resolved. Your idea is good, but obviously you need to reconsider the current business model; as pointed out, it just doesn't seem feasible.

Yep,

Its generally not a good idea to sell sites, if they have problems / are in debt.

Not good business etiquete IMO...

Try selling your site to one of the affilates. If one of the affiliates would pay lets say 30$. Turn around with that 30$ and pay off your other affilates. Just an idea...don't know if it'll work in your situation.

Aha! I'll give it to one of the affiliates I owe money to...maybe Phoog would be interested in taking the site?

No sorry, Im not intressed, but my advice to you is that you close down the affiliate program, payoff your affiliates what you currently ows them before this get to serious.

clear the debt, then go for the sale :)

Obviously he can't clear the debt. He wanted to push it off on the buyer o the domain, most likely. If he wanted to pay, he would have already. He also never stated the exact amount that is due right away to affiliates who reached their $10.00 minimum payout.

ANd if you think about it, he can just not pay anyone. There was no contract as far as I can see. He is not obligated legally to pay anyone. What are you gonna do, sue him for 20 bucks? LOL. More power to ya. Sure you can scream immorality or bad biz ethics all day long, but that and $0.99 will get you a bag of chips.

Serious? How could it get serious? What's gonna happen to him if he does not pay up? Get a bad trader rating? Big deal. Anyhow, you cannot give him a trader rating becasue the fact that he will not pay you the money he owes you has nothing to do with NP.

ANyhow, I'm definitely out of this mess. I have the feeling there is more to it than just what has been said. Sounds like a lot of trouble.
