I am thinking about selling TheHill.Tv. TheHill.com is a logical buyer.

I run the TheHill.Tv as a low key community site, no promo, no ads, just info. and my hobby content... so while there are stats I do not think they would matter. Though if anyone here is interested I could provide some screen shots. I did do some SEO... TheHill.Tv ranks in the top 5, and most often is #1, when the query is "Idyllwild, The Hill" (idyllwild is a mountain resort community every calls "the hill"). The town name is often mis-spelled so many query "idyllwild, the hill".

In any event I would deeply appreciate some input as to the projected value!

Thank you much.

Why would the owner's of the ".COM" be the most logical buyer of the ".TV", IYHO?

Thanks for the insight.

That is the 64 thousand dollar question (I hope)!

First, let's set the scene/market.
--TheHill.com is "the brand" when it comes to print coverage of congress.
--A non-profit TV business, C-Span, has shown that tv coverage of congress can be profitable (C-span 2, ect.), and in the process has dethroned thehill.com, on the national and global stage, as being "the people's eyes" on "the hill".
--Also, each .com has its own mission. In this case... thehill.com is owned by News Communications, Inc, of NYC. when they bought The Hill Newspaper they "wanted to be the News Corp. of community newspapers, but it will have to settle for being the news source of career politicians" (source: Hoovers.com)

TheHill.com = logical buyer of TheHill.Tv
1. to secure the relaventcey of the brand offline (to advertisers and politicians)

2. to expand their brand online... in "property" and scope... as many newspapers have succesfully spun off a TV station as distinctly different properties from the sacred print brand (the Chicago Tribune newspaper/ WGN broadcast tv / CLTV cable, et al all under Tribune Broadcasting)

3. to give advertisers more bang for the buck.

4. to compete with C-Span for TV coverage of congress with a TheHill.tv channel (the ad revenue model -campaign ads, major corp. influence ads et al from a "commercial version of C-Span" would be very profitable, while not infringing on the existing print model)

5. Why would'nt a .com media site be interested in a .TV domain... in the visual information age??

Any "apprasial" thoughts... now???

^^ Awesome post!

:yell:

Have you yet made contact with the folks at the ".COM" (with this exact scenario and in-depth reasonings as to why they should purchase your ".TV" equivalent)? :talk:

Please keep us posted here (a Wholesale "Quick Sale" appraisal is moot, really ... in this case. Correct?)!

Yes I have! Yesterday. And looking at my server logs, just a before I logged-in here, it shows 3 visits from NYC that could possibly be News Communications Inc.. If so thats good news. On the other hand, I have yet to find a website for News Communications Inc., and listings in biz directories, like Hoovers, do not show email addresses for the company. My contact had to go to the editor of TheHill.com with a request that he forward it to the New Comm.. I don't want to suggest that these folks are luddites... but if the shoe fits.

The appraisal is for possible sales to others, my neighbor offered 3k. I think that is a bit on the low side.

WHOA. :music:
If you have no luck with the owner's of the ".COM', etc. SELL this domain name to your neighbor in warp speed time (whilst he is, presumably, still on the Holiday eggnog), IMHO.
All the best!

several nyc ip addys tried script hacks, then sent spam when they failed .... hmmm.

if the 30 sec. reading of Thoreau's words on mountains, for mountain day, drove you nuts the first visit why did you come back? (with sound-on no less?)

You're most welcome, though quite seriously ... $3,000.00 is nothing to laugh at here IMHO! :talk:
Think about it (and then please re-read all of my comments) ...

PS. I wish I owned, "MobileMail.com". :xf.love:

Merry, merry. :santa:
