been wandering about the worth of some good names in the dot ws as i see many of them still free.
i noticed a good 2 word domain in dot ws, all other dots are taken but the dot ws and dot cc.
this certain name have over 75,000 exact searches per month according to estibot.

would you get that name with any prospect for profit of a quick sale or development? in other words, does dot ws names have any value?

.WS does have value, but since ICANN keep diluting all the domains and telling everyone that every new extension is the next big thing people are getting pissed off with it...

There aren't that many people who can afford the ridiculous prices that registrars charge when a new extension comes so you only find that the top 1000 names are gone in the first day, usually by the registrars themselves so they can gouge us for insane prices and the rest of us are scratching around in the crap for the scraps.

(I think that if a registrars wants to register a name for itself that is fair enough, but they have an unfair monopoly and should be made to pay for that)

It isn't uncommon for very strong .ws keywords to go for $10 or even less.

I personally stay away from .ws at all costs...I think it is one of the worst extensions, except for maybe .name or .coop....

There's a reason they're still available.
Don't waste your money.

I'm letting all my .ws expire. You can hardly even get a $10 offer here on NamePros for a single word .ws, let alone a two word .ws domain.

2 years ago I saw some reasonable returns on .ws, .cc, and even .info. I invested quite heavily. Big costly mistake. Now I'm, letting everything drop except some good .coms and .orgs. I'm even letting go of my .nets. I only buy .coms these days. Wish I'd stuck with that rule 2 years ago.Investing in exotic tlds expecting to sell later because it's a great word, is a pipedream.

Exactly, the top domains are the only ones with the money really and simply shoving more and more extensions at everyone is not going to help when it is only the .com that matters.

.ws is completely worthless beyond a few names, simply because of the amount of alternative extensions available.
