To those who wonder why we don't like political threads here at NP, I wish I could show you the number of emails and messages I've received lately from members who are upset about it. Very few topics bring out emotions in the way politics does. Very few topics create such a divide amongst members. Heck, even me... if I posted my own personal feelings about this election and the parties involved... it would almost surely cause hard feelings among people I consider friends. Anyway...

This will be the one-and-only (OFFICIAL) thread on tonight's VP debate. Post away and enjoy it.

John wasn't playing the field back in the 60's, he was plowing it; and when he got back from Nam and saw the condition of his once beautiful FIRST wife, his dedication to her slipped away. Sean Hannity is your source for solid information? Did you read the rolling stone article in its entirety? If you support McCain, then you support Bush's actions over the last 8 years.

I think when people claim they're afraid of what might happen if certain ethnicity's get into power, it is a direct admission that the said group has been mistreated and will seek revenge against those who have denied them any social power. I do not fear Obama, his rhetoric leans more towards peace and understanding. I fear McCain, he leans more towards domination over those who do not agree.

For me, McCain has had everything handed to him, and destroyed much of what he's controlled, just one failure after another; and Obama made it to where he is by shear effort. There is no comparison when judging the two on the basis of accomplishments; McCain is flat down the loser.

Honestly, do you really want a hockey mom for your next president who believes that the war in Iraq is predestined by God?

But seriously. I have a very high suspicion that Obama won't be in office to long, for various reasons. But, look were Bush has taken us so far - leading lamb to the slaughter.

Can America really afford 4 more years of Bush? McCain is like putting lipstick on a pig, as someone said. No matter how pretty you make it, it's still a pig.

Plus, McCain's VP choice isn't good what so ever. She hides from the media, and as someone says, her unscripted interviews are horrid. I think this was a not so smart attempt at publicity from McCain's side. I mean, you have an African American Muslim in the top 2 running, and McCain was trailing in votes, so I guess he thought that by bringing in a "secret weapon" (WHO REALLY HAS NO POLITICAL EXPERIENCE) he would surpass Mr. Obama.

But guess who's wrong? :P

I bet the McCain commitee is really kicking themselves in the asses right now.

And what did he say in those clips that isn't mostly true? Hes just saying what most people are afraid to say. Look at how old Rev Wright is. He obviously grew up during very racist times, something you would know nothing about. I think if you were treated like a second class worthless person you'd have some pretty strong opinions about those who treated you that way but you would know nothing about that.
