For me, seeing the record of dictatorial governments on the environment, I find big government "solutions" to be highly suspect. Dictators always start with big promises.

Big problems require big solutions. We've buried our heads in the sand for too long. It would be great if the Earth ecosystems and climate would just bend to our whims, but the planet is a fish bowl and the human race has outgrown it. Sustainable growth is the only way out of the quagmire. I have my own 'educated' opinions about that.

So far as the freedom index, if Canada and New Zealand are near 100, it is hugely flawed. They may or may not deserve to be at the top of the heap, but even the best of the bunch fall far short in my opinion. Maybe they use a sliding scale.

Hard to say exactly, but from all sources I've found Canada has a high freedom score. USA used to be the 'Land of the Free', but now doesn't even make the top 10. Having lived in the Scandinavian countries I am also a little suspect of the criteria used, but there are many degrees of freedom in the index.

Big problems require big solutions.
That sounds good, in a poetic sense - and it rolls off the tongue nicely. But is it true? Not as obviously flawed as "if the glove don't fit you must acquit", but not something that has been proven either.

Big solutions usually create even bigger problems, in my view, because people are inherently flawed and, even when they mean well, can rarely see all the facets and potential outcomes of any large action.

Imagine the governments trying legislate love, for example - we would have Orwell's 1984. Love starts at home, and small actions eventually spread and can present big solutions.

We are on an unsustainable path. If we don't correct course, the population will crash and perhaps several species may go extinct. But the planet will survive. I think any large-scale top-down action to effect change will just hasten the process and cause immensely more human suffering to boot.

By reducing environmental protections and amping up fossil fuel, Trump would have put US into a non-reversible jackpot. Many parts of the States are already experiencing water shortages.

Fracking damages the groundwater and uses a tremendous amount of freshwater. People don't know what they had until it's gone, and some just don't really seem to care (or plain ignorant). In a decade or so, they'll all be playing another tune. 🎶

Notably, China is leading the way in sustainable growth, but they also have a huge pollution problem, so much so that smog is blocking sunlight from solar panels. China has reduced the use of coal by 20% and EV sales are almost triple that of North America. At least Biden is willing to compete with China for future sustainable growth.

Look to decades of poor water management for that one. This day of reckoning has been coming for a long time.
Notably, China is leading the way in sustainable growth,
I highly doubt that. Figures from China are meaningless, and figures from outside groups are often also influenced by Chinese money.

2 Banks now , more coming I would bet IMO , Biden has tanked the US economy to levels unreal. The rest of the fallout will come as well IMO

According to International Energy Agency, China produces more than 80% of components in all stages of solar production. This is problematic for the Biden climate agenda, since the US is having difficulty sourcing key solar components due to supply chain bottlenecks.

China has driven down solar PV manufacturing costs, helping spur the vital technology’s success while at the same time resulting in a major concentration of global PV supplies

Americans in 1776 were guided by "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" when they declared their independence and constituted themselves; however, the claim that Constitutional rights are natural and God-given is about as tangible as eating soup with chopsticks. The laws of nature apply to a government that derives its "just powers" from the consent of the governed.

The American constitution was the model for every modern democracy, including the UK and Canada. It was inspired by the God of nature, and predicted in the book of Revelation.

No denying the US Constitution is a master document with teeth, but a nation of copious consumers hungry for resources is like a ravenous polar bear on the ice ...but that ice is melting and the species is doomed to extinction.

What is required for self-preservation is peace - the fundamental law of nature. Derived from this is the second law of nature, whereby people enter into a contract by surrendering their natural rights (ie. self-government) to a governing body which represents their rights. Americans are continually bragging about how free they are without any scale of comparison, 'free' compared to what? The notion has been indoctrinated well in order to placate the masses.

BIDEN: "We've made strong economic progress in the past two years." When Biden took office, inflation was at 1.4% and gas was $2.39/gal. Today, inflation is at 6.4% and gas is $3.47/gal.

Biden says "take-home pay for workers is going up." Except it isn't — inflation has outpaced wages for 22 straight months.

"Can you assure Americans that there won't be a ripple effect? Do you expect other banks to fail?" BIDEN: *shuts door*

Joe Biden has been President for 2+ years. Had support of the house, senate and media. He focused on equity, inclusion and tripling the national debt.

Reminds me of Barack Obama blaming Bush for six years.

You keep repeating this stupid stuff as if Biden can wave some magic wand and fix 4 years of stupidity like it’s nothing. There’s lots to do and some of these things aren’t overnight fixes. You supported this nonsense so this is on you, it just affects others as well tho

Remember... When they blame others, they are hiding from their own bad judgement.

Save your typing, you're not going to spin this. Trump rolled back protections for all kinds of things, financial, environment etc. then you want to blame somebody else. You're on PR patrol but you suck at it.

We actually talked about this when it happened:

Let me link to my post from 2017

"Trump says will cut "a lot out of Dodd-Frank" because "friends of mine that have nice businesses, they can't borrow"

And @realDonaldTrump issued an order that puts 2 @GoldmanSachs execs in charge of gutting the rules that protect you from financial fraud."

Bernie Sanders says Silicon Valley Bank's failure is the 'direct result' of a Trump-era bank regulation policy

I"m shocked a rich socialist democrat is blaming Trump for something that happened right after he had complete control of the Gov with the support of the media for two years.

No risk officer
Focused on "equity and inclusion"
Risky green energy loans
Risky venture capital
High inflation, higher interest rate.

Trump should have seen this coming.

You got me with "factcheck.org". Why not snopes or politifact?
Of course I got you, everybody can see it. Your last replies was a dumb meme and then you dodging the challenge. You fold easy. You like to sit here and lie your ass off all day long, then repost other liars, then when confronted with facts, you fold. Easy work.
