It's not rational to say let's do nothing about gun violence

Its not rational to print in the news such b.s. before the victims have been IDโ€™ed.
People are nuts, they have always been nuts. Look what happens in your backyard... acid attacks and running over people since no there are guns.

Oh, and the thought police have arrived in the EU with that ludicrous ruling yesterday from the court of human rights. Squash free speech. Brilliant.

Excuse me, but in a country where 30K people die every year from firearms it's hard to deny there is a problem. And I am rather pro-gun ownership.
The majority of shootings do not make it to the national headlines but they are nonetheless devastating.

The majority of gun deaths are suicides. If I remember correctly, the 2nd is from self-defense, including police, then crime.

It's not rational to say let's do nothing about gun violence while fostering the hysteria about terrorism that makes 100 times fewer victims, and spending tens of billions of dollars on wasteful mass surveillance in the name of fighting terrorism. How much money is devoted to violence prevention and worthy causes toward containing gun violence ?

Maybe we (you) could do something to build a more tolerant and inclusive nation, where people do not live in hate of Jews, Muslims or LGBT and entertain murder thoughts.
Surely, we have enlightened leadership and voters who are driving us on the right track now ?

Good point. So it's not that bad.
Some 13,286 people were killed in the US by firearms in 2015, according to the Gun Violence Archive, and 26,819 people were injured [those figures exclude suicide].
Another striking point:
The home front: So many people die annually from gunfire in the US that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 eclipses all wars ever fought by the country.

Here we go again. The anti gun people use every nutcase and a terrible tragedy to tuen to politics. Why didnt they ask to ban manila envelopes, pipes, and other hardware yesterday? The victims havent even been identified yet this rhetoric is used immediately.

We must all pray and hope for no more loss of life. But we have been saying โ€œthis one is too manyโ€ for far too long. Dangerous weapons are putting our citizens in harmโ€™s way.

Well, they're saying the person said - "All Jews Must Die" I just posted this yesterday:

"Jews will not replace us"

Those are literally white Nationalists. We'll see with this one. The President is probably sweating hoping it's not some "Nationalist", white supremacist type. Those types did murder somebody in Charlottesville, they did kill a bunch of people in a church in SC. You saw the quotes I posted the other other day from that racist forum.

As far as what Trump said about the death penalty. I see it as a punishment, I'm ok with that but you need to be 100% sure. It's not a deterrent tho like he said. People that do this will either die or go to prison. If that's not a deterrent, nothing is.

We'll have to wait till all the facts come out with this one.

Not to get all religious but I never understood this:

We must all pray and hope for no more loss of life.

That's never stopped a bullet. God is all knowing, all powerful. You're praying to somebody that knew this was going to happen and could stop it. If you're a true believer.

This is early posting so take it as that. Killer is Robert Bowers:

https://twitter.com/search?q="Robert Bowers"&src=tren&lang=en

"Social media accounts suggest shooting suspect Robert Bowers was a neo-Nazi/white nationalist who loathed Jews, migrants and refugees. He also said he strongly disliked Trump because he thought Trump was too soft on Jews."

Here Are 8 Stubborn Facts on Gun Violence in America

https://www.heritage.org/crime-and-justice/commentary/here-are-8-stubborn-facts-gun-violence-america

tl;dr
  1. Violent crime is down and has been on the decline for decades.
  2. The principal public safety concerns with respect to guns are suicides and illegally owned handguns, not mass shootings.
  3. A small number of factors significantly increase the likelihood that a person will be a victim of a gun-related homicide.
  4. Gun-related murders are carried out by a predictable pool of people.
  5. Higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime.
  6. There is no clear relationship between strict gun control legislation and homicide or violent crime rates.
  7. Legally owned firearms are used for lawful purposes much more often than they are used to commit crimes or suicide.
  8. Concealed carry permit holders are not the problem, but they may be part of the solution.

Here is a stubborn fact. The killer in Las Vegas killed a lot more people because he was able to use a bumpstock, something used to circumvent law. Something you're ok with.

And, I'm not even really seeing that much gun talk with this one. It's more white nationalist talk. That's where the focus is with this one. So don't get all your NRA talking points ready yet.

Of course, you regurgitate old talking points like a crabby housewife nagging her husband about something he did two years ago.

1) I'll speak about whatever I want. 2) Kate posted about guns. 3) Go jump in a lake

You just said I regurgitate old talking points, after you just did and I just replied to it.

And again, I'll reply to whatever I want. My reply was all true. I bet you were like, uh oh, another shooting, let me get my NRA sheet out or go to NRA twitter and copy and paste some stuff. Relax, I don't see the NRA stuff happening, maybe later, but right now the focus is all on his background.

No NRA stuff trending - https://twitter.com/search?q="Robert Bowers"&src=tren&lang=en

If this happened in Israel you'd be calling him a freedom fighter.

Now replace Jews with Muslims in the sentence and he is an OK guy.

That doesn't even make sense. I'm not crying about replies, you are. Here is a solution - https://www.namepros.com/account/ignored Put my name in there

Trump talking about armed guards. Now, I'm sure the NRA loves this. Let's have armed guards everywhere.

Now replace Jews with Muslims in the sentence and he is an OK guy.

Yep, don't think he likes Muslims either. Anti-Muslim stuff as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20181027160428/https://imgur.com/a/cwB9QkR

Sometimes I get amazed at you. I truly admire your intelligence, wit and posts outside this thread very much. But where do you get that? Nobody of common sense and decency condones any of this horrible crap on anybody of any race or religion. Anywhere. Most of us are sick of it. There is not one person in this thread who would do as you suggest. Not one. Please.

I used to believe in the Death Penalty. But changed my mind. Requiring such animals to be placed in the hot Mojave Desert in a big cage, with a pile of rocks and sledge hammers breaking them into sand is much better. A life of hard labor. No TVโ€™s, no amenities like the stupid prison system now.

I've never advocated the murder of Muslims or anyone else. I can't think of any conservative who has. I'm sure we can go back and find a few anti-Semitic posts from you.

Forgot what today was until I saw it:

https://twitter.com/hashtag/walkaway?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash

"Campaign Movement, dedicated to sharing the stories of people who can no longer accept the current ideology of liberalism and what the Democratic Party has become."

That's today. Don't think anybody really cares and plus not going to get any media attention on a day like this.
