There are two sides to the verse about "wives submitting to their husband". I can tell you from experience, Pastors don't read that verse to husbands.

They read the second half, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her". In other words, protect and server your wife, placing her needs above your own.
