Miss America is scrapping its swimsuit competition and will no longer judge contestants based on physical appearance, the organization announced Tuesday.

“We are no longer a pageant,” Gretchen Carlson, the first former Miss America to be named chair of the Board of Trustees of the Miss America Organization, said on “GMA.” “We are a competition.”

In place of the swimsuit portion of the competition, Miss America contestants will now take part in a live interactive session with the judges, according to the organization.

The contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia will be asked to demonstrate their passion, intelligence and overall understanding of the job of Miss America.

Well done Liberals... now any contestant that likes Trump, or prefers a normal marriage between man and woman, or has conservative views, will be automatically disqualified...

Fancy pens were purchased as gifts for foreign officials. I have no idea about the mattresses, this is probably a lie also.

Contestants have always been judged on how they answer a question (more than one question? an interview too? I'm not up on my pageant requirements but I know they are partly judged on how they answer at least one question.) - it sounds like that will just be a higher percentage of the score now.

Overall, they've always seemed to be a somewhat conservative organization. No reason that would change.

Contestants have always been judged on how they answer a question (more than one question? an interview too? I'm not up on my pageant requirements but I know they are partly judged on how they answer at least one question.) - it sounds like that will just be a higher percentage of the score now.

Overall, they've always seemed to be a somewhat conservative organization. No reason that would change.

Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about... after being asked her opinion about gay marriage by the rabid POS called Perez Hilton, who simply did NOT accept her answer...

This pageant is also now run by all women. Who even watches this anymore, you have the internet if you want to see women in bikinis. Now growing up, I always enjoyed the show but yeah, they were being paraded around like some meat. Let's be honest. The change would be more attributed to all women running it.

Further digging about the mattress thing (because that's too weird for me to let it go that easily):
Happened last fall. Apparently, those mattresses are super expensive. With a heavy discount for being used, they're still really pricey and more than buying a new top-of-the-line of any normal consumer name brand.

Personally, the"yuck factor" would deter me from buying a used hotel mattress, no matter how nice it is otherwise...

One of the players is disputing they kneeled, (maybe they stayed inside the locker room?). I don’t know, I don’t care and why the political “game” playing, but football is a game, so I guess its all a game? Entertainment value? Upset NFL players?

I think the Presidents advisers should have sussed out the team with their own spies, perhaps they should have hired the Hillary spy team to infiltrate the locker room consensus before inviting them in the first place.

Bottom line these all the obligatory and dumb PR events, smiles, ribbon cutting, invitations to shake hands or Kim Kardouchian bending his ear in person, etc are a pathetic waste of time. Bi partisan waste of time, no matter what President invites Mr. Rogers neighborhood, Milli Vanilli or Hulk Hogan or Billy Barty or the giraffes from the NY city zoo. Its all stupid. Its all an insipid dog and pony show with nothing of relevance to me and my tax dollars. I have zero interest in such news.

Meanwhile, important stuff nobody isn’t even beng talking about, today reading Social Security is being borrowed against, first time in a few years.
