WaPo story this is based on was wrong, didn't count all deaths, mostly because the Pentagon hadn't released them ( as I remember ). Also, does it matter if you die by a bomb, a bullet or a crash in a war ?

Chicago: strict gun laws, 189 homicides, 900+ people shot in 2018.

Indiana: few gun laws, much higher gun ownership, less than 50 in 2018.

We need to get away from blaming guns. Anti-#2A people need to stop lying so we can deal with the real problems.

More secure schools would be a great place to start. Bulletproof glass. Reinforced doors, etc. In the event of an incident, the kids and teachers should be able to shelter in place in relative safety until they can escape.

However getting rid of all but one or two doors, as that TX Lt governor suggested, wins the stupid award of the weekend. What if there’s a fire? Not to mention, the shooter could stay outside and pick off victims as they come out.
