Next Dem President will have to come in and clean up the mess the Republicans leave behind again. Might be too much damage.

Damage? If the US would quit meddling outside their borders theyโ€™d better off. I know there will be reversal in x number of years. The wheels on the bus go round and round... lol. The tax cuts in 8 years will turn into tax increases and more social programs. The Bernie Sanders โ€œWe want everything for free crowdโ€ of socialists will eventually have their way. Free healthcare, free college, free housing, free basic income, free everything. Nonsense. The system where everybody is equally paid regardless of skill, production and contribution disincentivizes capitalism.

Socialism is completely UnAmerican, at least the one I grew up in. The rise of the military industrial complex as Eisenhower warned is wrong too. Not enough small independent businesses are being created, we will see what happens with the tax bill in 4 years. I am yet to see details, just slanted news media commentary.

The rise in socialism and ultra liberal thinking and educational system in the states is rather disturbing to me. There is room in the middle. You probably think I am a die hard conservative, but really I dont agree with either party especially the extremes. For example, this new anti abortion rhetoric and b.s. I have no use for. Sure 7-9 month abortions should not be allowed and are horrible and disgusting, adoptions are not substitutions for birth control or common sense and should be discouraged, and many nations allow up to 3 months only. A womans right to choose is really important, and the govt should not be involved, but it makes no sense for society to allow breeding of unwanted children who grow up hating the world and become future criminals. The broken welfare system has gone on and on, even Mr. Hillary Clinton said it himself, mothers should not get perpetual public assistance the more kids they have.

So now as huge numbers of Babyboomers retire and millineals want free everything free, then who pays?

You just went off on some big rant, probably not having any idea what I was talking about. Then went off talking about Socialism.

"The system where everybody is equally paid regardless of skill, production and contribution disincentivizes capitalism."

Where did you see anybody post that?

Tell me, do you believe Trickle Down works? I don't.

Tell me, what's the benefit of people losing their health care or having to pay even more than they do now? See GOP bill.

For sake of argument, let's say we have Single Payer. Does that mean I can't be a domainer anymore? Run my own business? Other businesses will just stop? What?

The benefit of our deficit shooting up is what exactly?

"Not enough small independent businesses are being created"

What do you base that on? Is that just something to say or do you have some numbers or something we should be hitting and aren't? Internet alone has spawned all kinds of small, independent businesses.

Lock her up and throw away the keys

She is such annoyance. She needs some Guantanamo reeducation.

I am ranting sorry, but not targeting you at all just irritated at all the socialist agenda stuff I keep reading and hearing everywhere I go, not simply this forum. We all should be concerned with the big picture and how young people are thinking and being educated. Trump has kicked over the beehive and I like that. On the other hand, I donโ€™t like his twitter use and lack of tact and diplomacy at times either.

Moore and Hillary should start a new party, the miserables.

7 posts/memes in a row. Gilsan is triggered. Oh 8 now, another one while I was posting. He always does this when Trump is having a bad day.

This Glutton is delusional -
โ€œI Have Powerโ€: Is Steve Bannon Running for President?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/โ€œi-have-powerโ€-is-steve-bannon-running-for-president/ar-BBH8bmd?li=BBnb7Kz

And this guy is still a mess
Roy Moore, who still has yet to concede, is posting conspiracies and going after Doug Jones' gay son on Facebook

But Moore has posted links to his Facebook page discussing "How Muslims and Marxists delivered for Doug Jones" and that "Doug Jones's Gay Son Is 'Thrilled' by the Alabama win."

"Roy Moore is taking his loss well," tweeted CNN's Andrew Kaczynski on Thursday, pointing out Moore's Facebook posts.

Ok, here is some 2011 data- 5 minutes only invested. Look at the lousy revenue breakdown. Only 1/2 million or 2.2% overall of small businesses make up to $500K? That's pathetic.

Great growth alright. Does not matter what politicians are in office either. lol. Nobody is building anything with their hands anymore. You watch Shark Tank- which I really like the concept, but the end of each presentation ends it seems like "Well, we will do the deal and find someone in china to build the widget for you". Screw China. Let young people become apprentices thrive and learn. The trades have gone starting back in the late 80's and early 90's. "Labor is too expensive", that excuse. Manufacturing is struggling to stay on. Then Labor Unions come in demand outrageous wages and the Corps who then go outsource their jobs, or throw in the towel like in Detroit and all the steel industry. I know first hand in Machining in LA, used to be a huge business. Subcontractors for Boeing and all the other now merged Aerospace entities. I watched all the auctions and equipment shipped overseas. Boeing knew exactly what it cost to produce their sub assemblies, and forced small margins down the throats of machinists. So many of them they gave up.

You believe in growth? 17.6 to 22.5 percent in 10 years post internet boom. Meanwhile big monster corporations like Amazon and Google are screwing with all the small business owners in so many ways.
Google Scraping their data, Amazon is causing retail to go off evaporating.
I need to find a chart of growth from 2011 to present.

I thought you were all about Capitalism tho? Isn't Amazon an American success story? I do over 90% of my online shopping there. One of the highest rated merchants. I'm all for supporting small business, but you need to be more than just a small business, you need to compete. They need to stop crying, start competing. I think too many times small business plays on the sympathy angle. Amazon got big for a reason. Beat them at what they are weak at, if you can find a weak spot. They also help a lot of small businesses because you can sell on their site as a 3rd party.

There are no easy answers. I laughed year after year of Amazon's stock price and Zero P/E ratio. Certainly I was way off there and wrong. They reinvested everything into expansion- that was a smart thing. They do many things correctly- no argument. I like many things about Amazon, but it's about the price, convenience and the search- just like with Google. The rapid answer to find something you are looking for either to buy or learn. Excellent. But like ATT was a monopoly, they should be dealt with in some manner that does not eliminate all retail. Or maybe broken into pieces. But look what happened with that, ATT broke up into pieces (Baby Bells so to speak) and they were all re-assembled 20+ years later.

I don't have sympathy for Nordstroms or Macy's or subdivisions of their over priced stuff. I dislike Walmart too, crappy products mostly.

You sort of omitted the context of it all above the charts. I am not talking about "buy-a-job" type businesses making peanuts and few employees- like Hair and Nail Salons, Amazon won't take over that unless they buy some chain I suppose. Chain restaurants in the California city I used to live in, became more popular and out went all the older family restaurants that had much better food. Rents were too high, unless they owned the property for a generation. Lot's of turn over.

Small manufacturing businesses are not growing- at least I don't see it coming back to the 50-70's era. Under Trump, IMHO there is a small chance of some increase, but I believe it's too late. Starbucks minimum wage to pour coffee at $15 an hour? WTF? And people buy that $5 a cup coffee, I won't.

Amazon affiliate programs are a joke for most. Some few do well I am told with it.

Then this idiocy, or the Amazon to Ebay arbitrage.
https://andrewminalto.com/how-to-import-products-from-china/ These sorts of small businesses are not healthy.

I can't find an article or video about the Paintball distributors story, it occurred quite a few years ago.
Amazon basically figured out who their suppliers were, and what the best selling products were then went direct and competed to put them out of business.

https://hbr.org/2015/10/when-platforms-attack

But when Feng Zhu, an assistant professor at Harvard Business School, began studying the platform model, he heard a repeated worry from Amazonโ€™s third-party sellers: What happens if, instead of just matching buyers and sellers, the platform decides to offer competing products itself? The more Zhu talked with sellers, the more he saw that this wasnโ€™t a hypothetical question. โ€œTheir view is that the platform owners essentially run the platform as a lab, letting people innovate and compete against one another, and then cherry-pick the best products for themselves and capture the value,โ€ he says.

Amazon will eventually copy many products and private label them. That's going to be next big more in the future. Sure the consumer wins, but at the cost of the entrepreneur and inventor.

This is what google has done. They have scraped human intelligence on directories with links, song lyrics, etc. as i have written before somewhere on this forum- all this labor which were painstakingly created by humans in the early internet, and now for 20 years collected it all and Google are now the experts- and all the data was "taken", or should I stolen and repopulated in the index at the expensive of humans. Their websites deindexed and demoted. Chewed up and spit out. It happened to me, but I am in the process of reinventing one of my sites. One major classified publication comes to mind, I asked how they have survived in print all these years against google- the simple answer- is they ban all crawlers indexing. Nothing is indexed and all is protected. The key is timing, I repopulated and plan to have everything reindexed then cut it off at the knees once the site is well known. I won't need google again. If that works, I will repeat with other sites.

Gutless allies like Canada and Mexico abstained instead of voting no. Tiptoeing around the fact the Israel isn't actually going to be pushed into the Mediterranean.

Gutless or smart....

"Before the UN General Assembly voted Thursday, Trump had threatened to punish any country that opposed him."

"Canada's longstanding position is that the status of Jerusalem can be resolved only as part of a general settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. This has been the policy of consecutive governments, both Liberal and Conservative."

Same here, I am glad Trump kicked over the bee hive, But the twitter stuff, I don't care for.

I like the fact that Trump is staying true his words in terms of the things he is doing, He is having to break down walls to get things done, but i feel he is picking up momentum now, and we will see many changes up and coming in 2018, Things Trump covered to change during his campaign, I can see him getting things done this up coming year.

Well I am concerned with the amount of irrationality stroking more divisive rhetoric by some in the news media especially the Crap News Network ( some guy threw that word in on another thread, lol so its stuck today). On the other hand, while I try to avoid all the negativity I do like Tucker Carlson, except that blank stare he does to annoy some guests and the fake laugh. He articulates well and has some good things to say.

However, what goes on inside the White House is a ton of good stuff, none of which gets reported. Ivanka gets slammed and Melania for her shoes, I canโ€™t believe some of these โ€œprofessionalsโ€. DT He jumped on the Veterans hospital issue right away and is trying to operate quickly while the swamp has so much mud in it to slow things down.

That recent headline of that Conyers guy put me into shock, 52 years in DC? Man, I didnโ€™t know that was possible. Goes to show you that lifetime employment isnt only for GSA, Postal workers and Govt Union people only. I had a small contract years back and shipped some stuff to Iraq, it took me 49 phone calls (yes, no exaggeration) to get approval from the end user to get paid. They rotated out personnel so my customer left Iraq. Some Lifer buyer in DC kept sending me to call long distance to Iraq, at my expense and was totally unsupportive, unresponsive swamp dweller. Other buyers and other times were much better in other parts of the country so canโ€™t bag on the entire govt, but always a hassle except credit card buys. I have dealt with numerous situations as a vendor and the amount of friction when DC is involved is incredible to get anything moving quickly. I could go on and on as I had many years of dealings with the swamp attitude.

So, in my own small way I can relate and for Trump as an outsider its difficult, not only that but he has Obama Clinton loyalists obstructing progress and change at taxpayer expense.

Lets hope some momentum is maintained. The unbalanced budgets each year is incredible too.

Accepting the status quo strengthened the Islamist and encourages fighting.

Israel has many Arab citizens that vote, own property, worship freely or can choose not to worship.

If you had to move the Middle East tomorrow, what country would you live in? One of the many that would put you in prison for speaking against Islam?

Gutless or smart....

New Report on Illegal Immigrant Criminality Reveals Little & Admits Its Own Shortcomings
https://www.cato.org/blog/new-repor...ty-reveals-little-admits-its-own-shortcomings

New report from the DOJ reveals 1 in 5 federal prisoners are from other countries, most in the US illegally. CATO, tries to spin it the best they can.

"Likewise, drug traffickers who cross international borders are also in federal prison and account 46.3 percent of all prisoners. Thus, illegal immigrants are over represented in federal prison because the federal government enforces immigration laws"

These people are in prison for federal crimes, not immigration violations.

CATO argues state jail stats don't match the federal stats. If that were true, not enforcing immigration law seems to be a bigger problem.

Our Immigration system is upside down. We'd be better off spending money to educate engineers, medical professionals, and tradesmen in their own countries.

Hereโ€™s todays example of a Christmas present from Amazon to Ring.

Everybody needs an Amazon video doorbell for Christmas, well 2018. I predict, that by next year, Alexa their talking robot will filter and prescreen the person at the door based on some image database it stores in the cloud and ties into Facebook and decides if they are worthy of your attention to answer. Maybe even Amazons delivery service and Alexa will bark out a pre alert 5 minutes before arrival with that 100 lb bag of dog food, 30 rolls of toilet paper and other stuff you donโ€™t want to schlep home in the $60,000 Soccer Momโ€™s SUV.

If this does come true, somebody will hack it to present a โ€œtrustedโ€ video image, so it overrides the facial recognition. And then intruders can enter.

Another new entry into world dominance, Amazon selling video doorbells.

Yep, Helping small businesses grow, learning their suppliers, learning their customer base, then buying them up. An American success story. There is no way Amazon will fail at this venture. Just like Mr. Wonderful on Shark Tank says about getting eaten alive. Is this innovation? Or is this like Microsoft again?

Again, you're sounding anti-Capitalist. People will buy, use, etc, whatever they feel is the best for them. If they feel Amazon has a better product than Ring, they will buy the Amazon product. That's how competition works.

Trump getting things done, momentum.

Most decisions made against what the people want, allies, world etc.

Anti-Net neutrality.

Anti-environment decisions.

GOP bill, basic trickle down nonsense.

Health care? Mandate gone, people will lose health care or even pay higher now because of that bill. You think these people will be spending much into the economy?

Momentum into an even bigger mess.

You'll see at the end of his first and only term when you see some of the results of his own policies.

Thats what I said earlier. Investing in the Western Hemisphere, not across the Atlantic, and in the ME, weโ€™ve done enough. Although, I think if you read the stats there are quite a few people in the illegal category who arrive via an Airport on a roundtrip ticket and 90 day visa, that simply never leave.

Wrong term. Anti-monopolist. Anti large behemoth companies or countries (China and Japan) taking over otherwise small business niches. Amazon should stick with product fulfillment and logistics, thatโ€™s their niche. This niche is something that a security company like ADT should be involved instead and compete and have no idea if they are or not. I can see Apple next with the DoorBell.Apple. They have their new iPhone X facial recognition phone, except I read yesterday someone wrote itโ€™s racist since it wonโ€™t recognize Asians.

You're sounding like some dictator, telling a company what they should stick to. Again, let the market decide. People will buy the best product. Amazon getting in some of the areas can only push those companies to get even better. You can't call yourself a Capitalist and then post a bunch of Anti-Capitalist stuff.
