Has nothing to do with like or dislike. The other terms are scientifically accurate, "baby" is not. It's nonspecific layman terminology. They also are used to describe stages of development of other mammalian offspring. Biology class 101.

Some societies prefer having fun than having babies. Hollywood is full of actresses that prefer to adopt than to waste time in having their own babies, which could be an inconvenience in their careers. Just imagine, having to become pregnant and then taking care of the little one, which could make them lose at least a year of their fun filled lives. That's a no-no in Hollyweird.

If an authority like the CDC is going to issue statements on something that can affect my health, I want it based on science and evidence, not "wishes."

Read it carefully, they are not disregarding science or facts, they are making a recommendation on science and community standards.

Replace wishes with preferences, customs, etc. Not an unreasonable standard and certainly not banning words.
