Oh I understand the purpose of 2A. However the authors couldn't possibly have envisioned today's technology or the new issues that come with it.
If the government really wants to escalate a civilian conflict, they have drones... just sayin'...

I agree that we need to focus more on mental health - how do you propose we do that? How would we have identified this guy, how would we have determined that he posed a threat, what could have been done differently?

Criminals will get what they want. But if something's illegal, it becomes more difficult for an everyday guy who goes off the deep end to obtain. Also gives recourse to find the sellers and put them out of business.

I'd say armor-piercing bullets, high-capacity magazines and that bumpstock would be good candidates for "illegal." Would it "stop" anyone? No, but it would lower the risk. I also disagree with making "silencers" legal - if current hearing protection technology isn't sufficient, maybe the NRA should put some resources into that instead.

Security and freedom are always at odds and require a balanced approach to risk
management. General statement, that applies everything, not just weapons.

BTW, re the option of the shooter driving a truck full of fertilizer instead ... I believe the government monitors suspicious fertilizer purchases. Not 100% certain, but I believe that was implemented after OK City bombing.

NRA used to be for regular gun enthusiasts - judging from their latest commercials, they've become extremists. They don't represent the average person who just wants to go hunting or skeet shooting.

Did the founders foresee phones, social media? Should we eliminate the #1A b/c of progress?

The founders allowed citizens and businesses to own cannons,. the most powerful weapon of the time.

Banning guns hasn't stopped similar attacks in UK and France. UK is the acid splash capital of the world. AU banned guns, didn't have a big effect on the murder rate.

UK banned knives.. still no effect on the murder rate. People still murder each other. What's the difference between killing people with a bullet or bombs?

NV shooter could have leveled half of Las Vegas if he had drove his truck with explosives into the nearby fuel storage depot.

It's effective political tool to politicize tragedies but the results are not intended to keep you safe, only take power from one group and give to another.

Michelle Obama recently said, the reason we have so many problems is b/c too many white men run the Government.

We are a divided nation b/c people like Michelle and her husband have been carving up the nation into small groups and pitting them against each other. Identity politics demand you see yourself as a victim and others your victimizer.

Take a knee, America is racist, your problems are not your fault.. it's the white man holding you back.

CNN: "Cops are hunting black men in the streets like dogs", "Most of the people at the country music concert in Las Vegas were Trump supporters".

If you think taking Guns or passing laws will stop violence, Bernie Sanders wants you to join his mob.

We've had to put up with this shit for over a decade, and now liberal "thought" leaders and the media have declared political war on people who voted against them and for Trump.

Prominent democrats recently compared Antifa, radical anarchist and communist to the men who fought fascism in WWII. They praised and moralized the use of violence to suppress free speech.

Why would someone travel to Washington DC to shoot Republican congress men / women? Why would anyone plan an such a detailed attack on a concert of, to quote CNN, "mostly trump supporters".

Guns are not the problem.

At the 2:00 minute mark you can hear what appears to be 2 different guns firing at the same time. Could it be multiple shooters?

I don't know why the FBI bothers to appear on the press conferences in LV. They never have anything to say. Could they be holding back info in fear of affecting tourism to LV which I heard was a massive 40 million a year.

Or could they be holding back for political reasons?

Is that a number 13 tattooed on his Adams apple?

The left wing media, democrat leadership and Hollywood come out in force on social media, demonizing Americans, accusing every NRA member of bloody hands, even saying they should all be murdered.

But Trump is dividing the country.

But that's not the point because that's not what he did. He used guns. The guy who shot up the club in FL used a gun. The guy who killed little kids in Sandy Hook used a gun. The issue is gun violence. Not truck violence, stabbing or fertilizer bombs.

Whatever we're doing now is not working. So what's your solution? All I hear from you is criticism of solutions proposed by others.

People have a right to bear arms but innocent civilians have a right to live...

What's the difference between killing people with a bullet or bombs?

The obvious one, volume. You can kill more people with bombs or fully automatic weapons than knives and handguns. That bump stock he was most likely using, probably resulted in more deaths and injuries.

When it comes to gun control, never have I heard the left wanting to take away all guns, it's more common sense gun control. No citizen needs fully automatic weapons, those are meant for war. The AR-15 inventor said those were meant for soldiers. Those bump stocks should be illegal. There should be no gun show loopholes etc. There should be background checks/waiting periods etc. You have to balance your freedoms with living in a society.

It seems she was interrupted by some hecklers? but she made sure her voice was on full volume when saying: "Estado Libre Associado de Puerto Rico". She's obviously an "Independentista", which she has the right to be, but when she bitches about people dying while being filmed in front of pallets of aid waiting to be distributed, then she can go to "al infierno"

You didn't actually address what I posted. Obvious stuff. What would kill more, bombs and fully automatics vs. knives and handguns?

If they guy had a handgun, do you think we would have the amount killed/injured?

If the guy didn't use a bump stock, do you think we would have the amount killed/injured?

And you getting all drastic with the NRA stuff and Trump. Use some loon to make some argument. I can go find a nut posting on the internet talking about killing __________ insert whoever you want.

You don't want to deal with the majority opinion. Common sense gun control.

Ban fully automatic but the let tools like a bump stock basically turning something into a fully automatic, legal. How does that make sense? It doesn't, even some Republicans are talking about banning them.

Seriously friend, you will never have your opinion taken seriously with such hyperbolistic comments like these. Do you have any ide how many tens of millions of people you are talking about? That is such a ridiculously over the top statement, not to mention you have not attempted to back up your comments with any proof. Makng sweeping accusations of calls for the murder of millions of people is not really a little thing, either you have extremely obvious proof or you are just relaying BS became it suits your "argument."

Not just guns to blame... In my opinion, right now, it's the MSM + Hollywood with their super violent movies + Entertainment Industry + violent Video Games are the main culprits

HUGE problem is bump stocks are more of an idea than a device. The idea now out there for everyone to see, and any mechanically inclined person will be able to fashion their own bump stock system. But it will help prosecute people caught before they shoot and those that cant build $%^&
