A few point regarding Sheriff J.A. pardon, written by someone much smarter than I.

1) If the accusations that have become conventional wisdom in regards to Arpaio’s sins are unequivocally true, why wasn't he convicted of civil rights abuses or worse?

2) Did the Obama DOJ choose to let him skate? Or did they lack evidence?

Obama DOJ spent eight years going after Arpaio and never managed a glove on him until they got a criminal contempt charge to stick on continuing immigration patrols.

The judge who convicted him thought it was small enough to only warrant a civil charge. It was the Obama administration that ultimately filed criminal charges two weeks before his last election.
