That's just 1 hippy park, the residents want them. Not an example I would hold up on whether a country is ascending, especially China. Really random example there.

It's a uniquely skanky open toilet in what used to be a nice residential area - now just an overpriced residential area. Public toilets are as good an indicator as any about the state of a civilization. They are/were horrible in China, but are improving. Long ways to go, but at least they are headed in the right direction.

I lived there for several years, so I am familiar with that. But there is not a great deal of difference between San Francisco and most other cities in the US and Canada - except maybe they are leading the way in certain aspects.

Didn't you just point one out, open air toilets? I don't see those in my city, don't think I've ever seen them. Not sure how you know about most other U.S. cities, when you don't even live in the country. Real estate, crazy high in SF, crazy low in other places. All kinds of differences between different cities. Should I base what I think of China on LiveLeak videos? Where every building that gets built will just fall down because of inferior construction? Or nobody in China cares about other people and just leave them in the road when the get hit? Or kids like to go around beating up their teachers?

It's beyond ridiculous taking one thing and extrapolating it to everywhere else, especially in a country of almost 320 million people.

No. There is general left that we see through out the democratic party in every US city. But in San Francisco its pumped up to an incredible amount.

Um...because I was born and raised there, I travel, and have friends, business and family there? But that's not American enough for you? That's really up to you. But my point wasn't that China is a better place, but that the standard of living is improving there while it is declining in the US.

The Target department store chain has jumped into the transgender bathroom debate by declaring that men who claim to be women may use whatever bathroom or changing room they choose.

“Inclusivity is a core belief at Target,” a new company statement reads. “It’s something we celebrate. We stand for equality and equity, and strive to make our guests and team members feel accepted, respected and welcomed in our stores and workplaces every day.”

The retailer added, “We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”
