Well, to be fair, that 5 minutes of video is the same level of debate I could get from the drunks at the local saloon. I don't know why people watch these shows.
Name calling is not conducive to discussion, but bringing personal characteristics into it that people have no control over (old, white, male, female, gay whatever) is worse. Read the Palin stuff a few pages back, including the posts by women. The shrillness and bile doesn't bode well for when things really get tough, which they will.

Maybe lower oil prices will drive down solar panel pricing.

Locally, a winery did the switchover to solar panels, claims they were 95% off the grid for 2014, which was good news. Their major expense was having to pay the electric company for their connection to the grid. Their breakeven year is 2039, if nothing goes wrong or needs replacing, and if you don't add in the interest they would have accrued if they had simply invested in bonds or stocks. But hey, with all that global warming causing record lows all over, they might need to tack on an additional decade or so.

The point is man's affect on the environment in terms of changing weather patterns is a very slow roll. There should never be a research article that makes one say "take that greenies" Because there will never be a "gobal warming is fake" conclusion. The time frame or the amount of the change can be argued (even the direction of the change) but not that there is change.
