Verbster, it's pretty late up there. You must be on your fourth bottle of fermented moose liver by now. Come back at me in the morning.

You totally missed the point and are taking the usage out of context. The term was added by me because I wanted it to be clear that derogatory terms on either side are both unacceptable. Its sole and specific purpose in being used was to counter "libtard" so that people could understand how offensive someone might find that term. The term itself, by definition, is targeted at a group. At no time did I say I thought the the term was appropriate, in fact, the point was the exact opposite of that. I certainly did not at any point actually use it in a sentence where I ascribed those characteristics to people and that is a huge and massive difference between how those two terms were used in that thread.

I even told you that it was to be fair and balanced and I thought your thumbs up indicated that you understood that. I thought nothing more of it thinking the point obvious and simple to understand.

The fact that this crap is used to create sides and animosity is precisely the reason I don't want political stuff in that thread. It pisses me off that even when people are shooting shit they can't just get along and get past their personal hangups. If you're going to totally misrepresent me, please have the courtesy to let me know. You can use an @.

I wrote: where someone mentioned something as coarse and uncalled for as "cu*tservative" even though it wasn't really part of the discussion on the other thread,

Admittedly it was not well explained, but it wasn't meant to get you into the argument and for that reason I did not use @. My apologies if you felt misrepresented.

Big, BIG day today!. My predictions;

Republicans win the majority in the Senate.
Republicans retain control of the House.
While watching the election results, Obama shits his pants (literally) and thoughts of "Executive Order" occupy his mind.. Trampling on the constitution? sure, but WTF does he care.
Later tonight or tomorrow morning, Obama for the 7th straight time announces he will work with Republicans, extending the olive branch, only to reneg on it later..

Later in the month, Harry Reed, Obama's home boy begins pushing appointments of liberal federal judges through the Senate before Dems leave with their tale between their legs.

2015; Obama makes a series of travels to California, visiting George Clooney and Barbara Streisand for yet another fund raiser to pay for his Library, unfortunately he has no accomplishments to fill it with, other than taking credit for killing Osama Bin Laden and winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his hard work in bringing peace to the Middle East, lol
You forgot one very important part in his Presidency.... Golf. I'm sure he will be playing a lot more golf after tomorrow

"Maybe it's because one political party is dependent on voter fraud." You can't be serious. Do you really believe statements like that?

Yes I do. You mean to tell me you don't? Seriously :(

You forgot the long range predictions: The minority Democrat senators try a few of the Republican antics to slow government overreach (despite campaign promises for less government intrusion) and the Republicans about pop an artery, calling those tactics un-American and underhanded. The new president, a rich yacht owner named Mitt, promises to sign a constitutional amendment making filibusters a crime of treason punishable by death. After three years, the stock market is back down to George Bush levels, inflation is rampant and unemployment is back up to 9%. Right before the election Mitt and VP Jessie Ventura, are flying back from a Cuban cigar therapy session and mysteriously vanish over the Bermuda Triangle. Speaker of the house, Mitch McConnell steps up and within a month is kicked out of office for being senile. Bedlam ensues. A new party is formed - the Yuppies - and no one over 35 or uses soap is allowed to be a member. They win all the elections. Jesus returns to earth and is sent packing. A new virus - the Medusa virus - forms and infects everyone on the planet. All people turn to stone. Balance is returned, money is a thing of the past, and all is well once again around the planet.
Has Hollywood seen this script yet? Hey Versbster, you could have box office hit :)

Sometimes I get oversensitive when I feel I get misrepresented as something I'm not (intolerant, for example). You were making a point and I should have ignored it (not get involved :))

Oh well - hopefully we can still be STS friends....I have to remember that it was me who followed the conversation out here... lol

Gooooooood Mooooorning!!!!! Nothing like a little shot of fermented mammal to start the day. Wish I had something stronger to counter my outrage at congress this morning. While it might not seem so to some, a very dangerous precedent just happened. Congress (backed by one Democrat and one Republican) added a tiny rider to the congressional budget last week that removes wolves from the Endangered Species Act in Montana and Idaho. No science involved. No wildlife agencies involved. No judicial review allowed. This will have incredible ramifications, and not just about animals. Special interest groups are licking their chops in anticipation of congressional permissions and exclusions without judicial review or even good reasons. This is as bad as corporations being ruled as individuals (and no limits to campaign contributions). Mark my words: This is going to cause some big waves.

You know, I heard there's a secret government (liberal) organization in Florida that used to smuggle hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into a special border town full of nothing but voting booths and pre-punched ballots. After a few elections and the advent of computers, they finally figured out they didn't need real people to vote; they simply culled the voter rolls for non-voters and electronically cast votes in their names. A computer algorithm insured the votes were spread out enough not to raise any red flags about turn-out. Just a little nudge here and there. . . . Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone.

There is no discussion because any video that you disagree with you will label "alex jones" or "conspiracy theory" which shows your total lack of thought. Watch the video, then comment. Maybe you should post your NSA snack room tough guy avatar opinons in your own thread. I didnt see you give any opinon about the video and instead random comments about Germany and Japan.

I label it such, because it's a correct label. Never heard of the guy but when I Googled him, guess who came up? Alex Jones. Or videos talking about what a scam the guy is, followed by comments mentioning Alex Jones. Your sources are basically some Alex Jone's Friend Circle. They're all usually connected to some kind of conspiracy stuff. Which is not surprising because it would be pretty obvious to anybody who's read your posts, that's what you're into. I'm not, that's why I'm not going to waste my time watching videos from some nuts. Simple as that. You keep reading this garbage and what happens, it your posts from around page 99 of this thread, stuff like:

"Nobody signed any contract that says that "the goverment" can steal money from us. I didnt make any deal with anyone, nobody asked me."

Geez, why would I bring up Alex Jones, let's see

Geez, What content in the video does this deal with exactly. You are again and again trying to attack my person instead of discussing. Why is that?
What is it that I am into exactly what exactly are you trying to say?
Are you trying to say that because you have a tough guy avatar that you are a tough guy and have a need to make up for how tough you are in real life by acting and looking tough online? Or do you mean since I have the back of the dollar bill in my avatar im friends with alex jones?

We have been over this already you are trying to put people into compartments instead of talking to them, interesting. Instead of speaking about any real content you prefer to shout "conspiracy" or "nut" and when that gets old "Germany" "Japan" "World" "anything" which in itself is no argument at all. Simple as that.

The majority of the video uses graphics from the fed.
The "recovery" is not exactly a great one when you look at all of the past ones.
If the "recovery" were to stop there is not a lot of things the fed can do since the interest rates are slightly low.

Tough guy avatar? I could have a kitten avatar, and I'm still going to think your sources are whack jobs. You get easily manipulated by videos crafted to come to whatever conclusion they want too. You put yourself in your own compartment, that's on you.

You have a tough guy avatar and I think your debunker sources are more wacked than a milkshake.
You are too easy manipulated by people calling themselves debunkers. The sources of the video are mostly the fed, which are then wack jobs. Also notice your use of the word wack job, nice agumentation.

It's just an avatar from a movie.

We already went over why you hate debunkers. Because they take apart, expose the nonsense you believe in. Of course you're not going to like that. We went over this with that 9/11 truther nonsense.

Why do you hate debunkers? Why to you hate the truth?

We already went over how you worshop debunkers and never debunk the debunkers who have their own motives to craft the "debunking" to whatever outcome they want. We also already went over this with your 9/11 truther nonsense non arguments.

No it is not "just an avatar" in fact you were the one that bought up the use of avatars, and how it reflects ones views, yours reflects the need to be a tough guy.

I like the truth, facts. That's something debunkers provide. Debunkers being scientists, or experts in their fields etc. Your sources are people that like to manipulate people that can't think for themselves. The type that off themselves when comets come around or hang out in the forest drinking kool-aid or think the government made the last tornado etc.

I looked the guy up you posted. Do you want to go thru some of the scam videos? Or links taking him apart?

No that is incorrect. Debunkers craft their content as do all other content creators and are often not scientists or experts in their fields, they manipulate people that can not think for themselves. The type that like to call anyone nuts for questioning much of anything, including their modivation for "debunking".

That's actually false. So with 9/11, Popular Mechanics, one of many debunkers, they manipulated people using facts and scientists huh? Are you an anti-Science person?

Here is a nice lil list of some debunkers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debunker

Go thru it. You see whack jobs there? People that take apart 9/11 nonsense, UFO nonsense, ghost nonsense etc. Now, if you believe in that stuff, like I said, go start your own Conspiracy thread, I would be more than happy to go thru it with you.

r"
So now you want to get into ONE example, that is fine. It does not speak for all debunkers in general as a whole in little debunker website forums, that is where the majority are. Could popluar Mechaincs have motives other than publishing the truth, like selling ad space? Oh yes.

Are you trying to say that ALL scientists agree with what is published in that issue? No that is not true.

Yes, the evil Popular Mechanics is out to steal your money, just like the government. How dare they go point by point, using experts in the field taking apart some truther's nonsense. Why not take a break from what you usually read and actually trying reading some of it and then come back here and attempt to take it apart. I read some of the truther stuff you posted earlier and did exactly that. I read a lot of that when it first came out, both sides. It's pretty clear who the nuts were and who made more sense.
