After several years of ridiculous choices for Nobel Peace Prize winners like Obama or "European Union", finally, two worthy winners of the Peace prize.

...and falling.

For the category of "legal structure and security of property rights", the US was 36th in the world.

"...increased use of eminent domain to transfer property to powerful political interests, the ramifications of the wars on terrorism and drugs, and the violation of the property rights of bondholders in the auto-bailout case have weakened the tradition of strong adherence to the rule of law in United States."

It's actually not slipping, it stopped slipping. It was 12th in 2012 as well. Japan on the other hand, 23rd. In 2000, it was 14th.

You came to hate on America, get your quota in, only to tell everybody America has stopped the slide, is in the top 10% of the world. In school that would be an A, aka Excellent. Japan does need to step it up. Maybe get some of that American Can Do spirit. They can do better than 23rd.

Portugal is 43rd.

And better than Portugal, too! Wow, aspirations the founding fathers never dreamed of. The top 10% you say?
I don't hate America - I hate what corrupt and ignorant people have done to it. After corrupt governments in Portugal and Japan have destroyed the economy, those countries will at least have a common culture to hold them together. Not sure what the US will be looking at. Judging from arms sales there, a lot of folks in your neck of the woods expect the worst.

Which goups of people are ignorant?

I was wondering if people who believe the definition of marriage is 1 man and 1 woman, also have a problem with people who marry themselves?

I don't understand the legalities of this. Marriage is usually the union of two (or more) individuals. When filling out paperwork for something like medical treatment, would the same name go in the spouse's name field?

Perhaps the better question now is why can't marriages involve multiple partners? Why the limit to just one other person? Is it only because of taxes and benefits?

I echo 'the better question', and also ponder the legal status... including minor things like what does she put on applications and legal forms -- 'Married' or 'Single' ? (she likely checks both, then tries to explain 'I am a married-single'). "Sure you are. So how was the honeymoon?", the clerk replied.

That's a load of bull as far as I'm concerned. Marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN. Any other deviation from that should be given another name.

How about between a man and two women? Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon and others had multiple wives.

Same story. Marriage is between One Man & One Woman. Anything other than that should be called something else.

How about Muhammad who married about 13 wives including the famous 8 year old (some say she was 6) bride Eisha? Wouldn't surprise me that the other 12 brides were pretty young as well. What would you call that? Pedophilia, or something else?

How about the child brides that to this day, still get married in Islamic countries

How about the many wives that Muslims marry in this day and age.

Interesting that you always bring up stuff from the Bible that happened thousands of years ago with Christians, but never mention Muslims.

It just shows how biased you are against Christians

Not at all. I just know how biased your religious views are, so I try to use religious examples you are familiar with. What good would it do to bring up examples of Muslims who marry more than one woman?

Besides, it looks to me like you are doing some research; good job.

For the same reason that you brought up examples that happened in the Bible thousands of years ago, except that in Islam the practice of having many wives, continues in this day and age.

Muslim immigrants in Germany have as many as 3-4 wives, perhaps 6-7 children from each wife, and all of this is funded by welfare as none of these wives work. 35 % of Muslims living in Germany have multiple wives, nearly all of them live comfortably on welfare funded by German taxpayers.

This is not only in Germany too, nearly all of Europe has the same situation, including the U.K, where Muslim men take overseas trips to pick up multiple wives, marry them and bring them back to the U.K as legal citizens who then go on permanent tax payer funded welfare for themselves and their future children.

Fantastische, don't you think? They come to Europe, with prior knowledge of all the loop holes to milk the system and WE, stupid Europeans, pay for this fraud.

I like how Gilsan just repeats propaganda.

"3-4 wives, perhaps 6-7 children from each wife,"

So somewhere between 18 and 28 kids, lol.

Considering polygamy is illegal in Germany or that 90% of Muslims in Germany are from Turkey, that has a fertility rate of 1.87. But I guess when they get to Germany, it skyrockets to 18-28.

It's interesting to watch empty heads get manipulated like that. Some cleverly edited YouTube video, that gets passed around the internet, usually by right wing, I hate Muslims sites. They have Gilsan playing the role of the sheep, attempting to further pass along nonsense.
