Liberals love bacon, not because of it's taste but because of the empowerment it gives them over dead pigs. Only, they can't admit they like it very often, on account of their peta voting block.

I love bacon because it tastes good. I didn't know it was political and empowering and stuff.

Bacon is not political...
Bacon is good.
Bacon is awesome.
Put bacon on the table and all the wingers can sit down and enjoy a meal with no political talk.
PETA is actually People Eating Tasty Animals!
Like chicken fries, bacon, steak, turkey legs.

Of course Bacon can be used Politically Religiously or Militarily. Imagine Israel throwing some of these across the Gaza border. The Muslim world would go on an uproar that could be heard in the Moon

A good speech about life in a police state.

I doubt it. The video showed what looked very much like a guy stealing cigars and the manhandling the shop clerk. That guy later ends up dead in the street, and next thing you know you have paramilitary police with tanks and high powered weapons aimed an unarmed protesters.

I believe that it's bad to have police behave in such a manner. But, on the other hand, I think they are asked to do an impossible job. They are asked to maintain social order where no social order exists in the first place. This is the problem with rule of law replacing community and family. Order comes from community and family, and law is supposed to be there to catch the outliers. Weaken the family and the community - now all you've got is the law. And this is what it looks like. Good luck with that.

Americans don't realize it yet, but their country has now become the battlefield, literally. The streets are now regulated with weaponry used in Iraq. Law enforcement has become militarized to the point that police state is not longer an appropriate denomination.

First thing all police departments should do?
GET RID OF THE FREAKING CAMO!!!

Second, keep the armored vehicles away from any unrest and bring them in ONLY if needed.

Third, most cops could stand to lose some weight.

Lies, lies, unless you think a molotov cocktail means unarmed? Or guns unarmed? Did you miss more looting last night?

Most were protesting peacefully, those people aren't the issue. It's the ones that go to start stuff up.

You have riot police as well in your country

Do I think they need mine tanks or whatever you call them? No. But I don't have a problem with police using gear to protect themselves. I'm sure if you were doing their job, you would as well.

This is the problem with rule of law replacing community and family.

Sometimes the family isn't there to begin with, and community isn't so great, poverty etc. Where you have poverty, you have crime. Where there is crime, there's going to be police. Basic stuff.

So when looting and crime happens, you guys want the police to show up in what? Cargo shorts, t-shirts? Say please stop, be good? Or other situations that happen from time to time where somebody has a weapon. Maybe just show up with a hug?

BTW, have you noticed how Iceland is becoming a police state? Why there are all kinds of video on YouTube

The pictures and footage you pasted were all taken in the wake of the 2008 banking collapse. Semi-riots like these are extremely unusual, in fact there is almost no precedent in history, because Iceland is normally very peaceful. And generally, the policemen do not carry handguns there. It's very unlike the US where police have become Robocops, and surplus heavy weaponry is being poured even on the small cities. Of course, police have the right to defend themselves. But the problem is that any tool, equipment or means made available to law enforcement, will be put to use one way or the other.

The video posted by Domainace said that the US cannot be called the land of the free when it has more inmates than any other nation in the world. Police + prison is the US approach to social problems. Always has been.

I don't see any Robocops where I live or that heavy weaponry. This is a special case, where rioting might happen. We've had incidents like that before, it's good to be protected.

"Semi-riots like these are extremely unusual"

For every 1 of those you have, we could have 980.

We have a population of almost 314 million.

You have a population of 320,000

We have 980x the population.

And those are recent videos I posted about Icelandic police abusing the citizens. I could post more, or links to blogs talking about the problems in Iceland. It's the internet. If you specifically look for something, you will find it.

The videos I posted above about Japan, what are your thoughts on those? Do you not think I can find more on Japan, Iceland or whatever country I want?

Iceland the land of the free, where if you kid is named Harriet, they can deny a passport

"Harriet Cardew may seem like a perfectly normal name to people in the United States, United Kingdom, or many other places. But in Iceland, itโ€™s illegal."

http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart...0-year-old-getting-passport-180952319/?no-ist

"The pictures and footage you pasted were all taken in the wake of the 2008 banking collapse."

Well, you had the 2009 Icelandic financial crisis protests, but in 2008, you also had the lorry protests

Few years prior to that, you had 2005 protest in Iceland against the Kรกrahnjรบkar dam

Undercover police officer accused Icelandic police of 'brutality'

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2011/jan/16/undercover-mark-kennedy-iceland-police

That's just 3 incidents in a matter of a few years, for a country with such a low population and pretty much the same heritage.

I can just imagine how it might be if the population was 980 times that.

Police state? All countries have police, riot gear, incidents of police abuse etc. So if the U.S. is a police state, then Japan is a police state, Iceland is a police state, Portugal is a police state.....

Michael Brown Store Robbery Video Minutes Before Shooting! Looks pretty obvious what he did.

If Michael Brown and his little friend had not stolen stuff from the store, the police would not have been called about the robbery, no confrontation would have happened, therefore no killing would have
occurred.

On top of that because the cop was white and the victim black, all that
rioting and looting started and spread around many cities around the US. If the cop had been black, more than likely there would be no rioting or racial tension and of course, Obama would not have interrupted his golf game to come on National TV to talk about it, while Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be nowhere to be found.

Unfortunately looting just reinforces stereotypes.
