Did I say I had a problem with that? I said I never understood it.

And to answer your question. If someone gets more votes than another, YES he/she should win. I believe it's called democracy.

Bush should never have won that election

You said
That shows there is a big flaw in the US electoral process.

I took that to mean you thought that there was a problem with the way it worked. Now you say that there is.

That's a (and more importantly, your) definition of democracy... but so is a representational system. A simple majority vote is probably much easier to manipulate. You wouldn't even need to have money laundering super-pacs.

I think McCain sold out his country with that pick. This is one of the first important decisions you make and he scoured the Republican party and this is the best he came up with? I think we all know, it's not who he really wanted, but more what the party wanted.
After Bush and especially after the 2007-2008 financial crisis, it was virtually impossible for any Republican candidate to win and it made no deference what VP they chose. So why are you always comparing Palin to Biden. That was 4 years ago. You have to compare Ryan and Biden now. We will see in the debates what happens. I know that Candy Crawley of CNN will unfortunately be one of the moderators. Unfortunate because she is an Obama ass kisser.

The only way the Republicans lose the debates is if the moderators don't ask the tough questions about what really matters to the normal person, not the bullshit the MSM insist on bringing up, day in and day out, which I suspect is what will come out in the debates, which will obviously benefit Obama.

"And I might be in the minority on this one, but I'm not a fan of the Electoral College. I understand why we had it, back in the day. But I like a straight up truly democratic vote and that would be a popular vote".

I'm shocked. D-: You and I actually AGREE on something WOW!!! You deserve a :tu: for that!

"So why are you always comparing Palin to Biden."

? You brought him up. I asked you about Palin, you avoided that and started talking about Biden. I'm showing a pattern of picking bad VPs, it's not helping. Again, Dems usually vote for Dems. Repubs usually vote for Repubs. The base is already fired up with having Obama as President. The right is already going to vote Repub. You need the middle, the moderates, the undecided. VP choices like Palin/Ryan isn't going to get that vote.

As far as the debates, it's on the candidates, not the media. You have to take ownership. It's not like in 2008 we all of a sudden had this new media. It's the same media that was around when Bush was there 2000-2008, it wasn't too long ago.

I think we're going to have some lively debates from these candidates, should be entertaining.

you cant argue with conservatives because they always start quoting the bible

you cant argue with conservatives because they start to blame islam for americas problems

you cant argue with conservatives because they know the "truth"

you cant argue with conservatives because they will start spouting out info they heard from FOX, Rush, or Beck (this is the "truth")

who really cares? this is all a big distraction and will not change anything. Do not go vote.

You can't argue with anyone who has chosen a side irrespective of the actual content of the discussion.

Way too much red and blue and not nearly enough purple.

In this thread there's too much blue and very little red, however I must agree 200% about "not enough purple", which would obviously be Ron Paul!

He wouldn't need to. The private sector would do it for him.

Title of Video "DNC Chair Torn To Shreds Over False Claims" is misleading, since she wasn't "Torn to Shreds"
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k-KuYJraEg"]DNC Chair Torn To Shreds Over False Claims - YouTube[/ame]

What happened to Anderson Cooper? He actually challenged Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz for the lies she spewed out? Finally for about 3-4 minutes we see Anderson acting like a real journalist, or at least he seemed to. Of course if Debbie was a Republican she would have REALLY been shred to pieces by Anderson. Still it's a good sign.

I wonder if the fact that Anderson was given the boot by his boyfriend a couple of weeks ago had anything to do with this 3-4 minute memory lapse he had?

This Debbie is really something else. I'll bet that if you put an Elephant in front of her, she would insist (with a straight face) that it was a Donkey and worse of all, millions of Liberals would believe her.

Now I'm gonna have JB Lions coming here and proudly saying "See, I told you the MSM is not biased"

You can play that any way. Let me put on a tin foil hat for a second..

OMG Gilsan, further proof the MSM wants Romney/Ryan to win. They must have gotten to him somehow, threatened him with something, gets me thinking, hmmmmmm

MSM - mainstream media

MSM owned by big corporations, and we all know they own DC/politicians, big corps really running things

FOX one of the most popular MSM/largest audience, great ratings

The Right/Clear Channel just owns the airwaves, radio.

On air personalities, execs etc. at these news stations, not exactly worried about paying that utility bill. Make good money, some have books, higher income type.

Hmm.

Big corps(much money), media (much money), people in media (much money). They would like higher or lower taxes? Has to be lower.

So they would favor? hmm, I think Republicans.

Independent tax evaluaters said Romney's Plan would cut taxes for rich, middle class pay more.

Romney said he would do opposite of Obama and just go along with Israel and bomb the hell out of Iran, another war, another way to fill the defense contractors coffers.

Who has been in the White last 20 of the last 32 years, almost 2/3 of the time? Republicans.

hmm, I think the MSM has it in for the right. The evidence is overwhelming.

So thanks Gilsan for pointing out how the higher ups have gotten to Anderson.

Side note, the R should really be thinking about 2016 at this point. How to move back to the mainstream, get the party out of the grasp of the extreme right, get with the country again. The fact that you guys picked the guy the was closest to the middle, didn't pick the extreme right candidates like Bachmann or Santorum, is your only glimmer of hope. Didn't have much to choose from but from that lot, he was the closest to the middle, which tells you how to the right the candidates were. That choice tells me maybe a lot of the voters are getting tired of it as well. That you picked a retread candidate, a Mormon that doesn't fit the Christian right bill, somebody who had ObamaCare in his state, probably inspired Obama, these are all clues. Is 2016 the year you finally start heading back to the middle? Stop picking extreme right VP candidates and find somebody the mainstream can relate to? Or business as usual and take another Loss in the Presidential Election.

JBL.

You forgot that NBC is 49% owned by General Electric. One of the most liberal leaning, peace mongering, keeping-jobs-in-america companies in the USA!

Vote Ralph Wiggum For President!

3 possibilities about Anderson Cooper:

1. His higher ups forced him to be tough on Debbie because of CNN's low ratings
2. Anderson lost his marbles for a few minutes, when he thought about his ex-boyfriend
3. Anderson is moving over to FOX, so this was his first practice round.

Oh and BTW, I enjoyed your post... for a change

I guess which ever one has a barking dog is the one he is talking about. :-/
As long as Bishop WTF's VP doesn't eat the barking dog, then that's OK with me
