Muller is out of steam, hence the back-door tactics. Democrats want to keep this going through November. If Trump was cleared before then, they wouldn't stand a chance of taking the house / senate.

That's the frustrating thing, his recusal, leaves Trump on an island, with no one to fight the back door tactics, etc. and stand up for his rights, except for the Congressional committees and we know how ineffective they are in getting much done!
