    Impeached again...

I mean just one little attempt to overturn an election for two months via complete bullshit voter fraud claims, trying to pressure states to "find" votes, culminating in a seditious coup attempt...

How unfair for Trump to be impeached just because of that.

If Mitch McConnell votes to convict, the Senate will find the votes. They need the political cover to do the right thing.

When a president incites sedition and a coup, the minimum is to impeach him. A president comminting so high crimes must be held accountable, by an impeachment and by the Law.

It sure has been a rough last few months for Trump. He should have just taken the L and moved on.

Now Trump is disgraced. His legacy is completely destroyed.

    His ego cost him everything.

Oh well. Maybe other people will learn a valuable lesson from this.

Now the impeachment must go to the Senate where it needs 2/3 of the camera to be approved.
Some lawyers say it would worth to try the 14th Ammendment, to prevent Trump from holding office again.

Removing Trump through impeachment or the 25th Amendment is warranted. But this is better.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opini...r-25th-amendment-warranted-better-ncna1253991

The benefit of the 14th Amendment is that it allows Democrats to hold Trump accountable without the need for support from Republican senators or Mike Pence.

The president of the United States meets all the criteria for being permanently barred from public office under even a rigid originalist reading of the third section of the 14th Amendment, ratified after the Civil War as a way to expel public officials who sided with Confederate insurrectionists over the union. The 14th Amendment's text plainly states that "no person shall ... hold any office, civil or military," who, "having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid and comfort to the enemies thereof."

    ---------------

    14th Amendment

    https://www.annenbergclassroom.org/14th-amendment/

Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

A senior Trump adviser offered a stinging assessment of the President's second impeachment by saying Trump has destroyed everything he built politically because he could never tell the truth.

"In the end, it all came crashing down because he could never tell the truth," the adviser said. "All because he couldn't accept he lost," the adviser added.

"This will be the story you tell your kids when you lecture them about telling the truth," the adviser continued.

None of them openly attacked democracy the way Trump did. That point is really not even debatable.

    That is just whataboutism.

If you give me a specific example I will let you know my thoughts.

In this case Trump's lies and misinformation for months, abuse of the legal system, and inciting a violent coup attempt was a clear attack on democracy not seen in modern history.
