Enforce the law. Find the visa overstayers and deal with them.

But the census isn’t law enforcement. It’s demographic data collection. That data is used for a number of things, so the more accurate the better..

The person who originally suggested adding the citizenship question blatantly STATED that he would use it to redistrict for political gain.

That’s gerrymandering. It’s wrong and an attack on our democratic system.

That’s the main reason it doesn’t belong on the census.

Secondary issue is that to some extent it will eff up the data.

Ronald Reagan - Medicare Will Bring A Socialist Dictatorship youtube.com/watch?v=Bejdhs3jGyw
:laugh::laugh::laugh:Keep going with the socialism line. Good entertainment!~

The American Medical Association (AMA) releases an 11-minute spoken-word album (LP) featuring actor and promising conservative politician Ronald Reagan. Reagan speaks against what he and the AMA call the “socialized medicine” of Medicare, currently being considered in Congress as part of legislation proposed by Democrats Cecil King and Clinton Anderson; many refer to the legislation as the King-Anderson bill. The AMA, along with most Congressional Republicans and a good number of Democrats, has been fighting the idea of government-provided health care since 1945.
Socialism Advancing under Cover of Liberal Policies - Reagan begins by warning that as far back as 1927, American socialists determined to advance their cause “under the name of liberalism.” King-Anderson is a major component of the secret socialist agenda, Reagan says.

“One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine,” he says. “It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project.” No real American wants socialized medicine, Reagan says, but Congress is attempting to fool the nation into adopting just such a program. It has already succeeded in imposing a socialist program on the country by creating and implementing Social Security, which was originally envisioned to bring “all people of Social Security age… under a program of compulsory health insurance.”

Reagan, following the AMA’s position, says that the current “Eldercare” program, often called “Kerr-Mills” for its Congressional sponsors, is more than enough to cover elderly Americans’ medical needs. (Author Larry DeWitt notes that in 1965, Kerr-Mills will be superseded by Medicaid, the medical program for the poor. He will write, “So Reagan—on behalf of the AMA—was suggesting that the nation should be content with welfare benefits under a Medicaid-type program as the only form of government-provided health care coverage.”)

King-Anderson is nothing more than “simply an excuse to bring about what [Democrats and liberals] wanted all the time: socialized medicine,” Reagan says. And once the Medicare proposal of King-Anderson is in place, he argues, the government will begin constructing an entire raft of socialist programs, and that, he says, will lead to the destruction of American democracy.

“The doctor begins to lose freedom,” he warns. “First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then doctors aren’t equally divided geographically. So a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him, you can’t live in that town. They already have enough doctors. You have to go someplace else. And from here it’s only a short step to dictating where he will go.… All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man’s working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it’s a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay. And pretty soon your son won’t decide, when he’s in school, where he will go or what he will do for a living. He will wait for the government to tell him where he will go to work and what he will do.” DeWitt will note that this is far more extravagant than any of the Medicare proposals ever advanced by any lawmaker: “It was this more apocalyptic version of Medicare’s potential effects on the practice of medicine that Reagan used to scare his listeners.”

Advocating Letter-Writing Campaign - Reagan tells his listeners that they can head off the incipient socialization of America by engaging in a nationwide letter-writing campaign to flood Congress with their letters opposing King-Anderson. “You and I can do this,” he says. “The only way we can do it is by writing to our congressman even if we believe he’s on our side to begin with. Write to strengthen his hand. Give him the ability to stand before his colleagues in Congress and say, ‘I heard from my constituents and this is what they want.’”

Apocalypse - If the effort fails, if Medicare passes into law, the consequences will be dire beyond imagining, Reagan tells his audience: “And if you don’t do this and if I don’t do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.” Reagan is followed up by an unidentified male announcer who reiterates Reagan’s points and gives “a little background on the subject of socialized medicine… that now threatens the free practice of medicine.” Reagan then makes a brief closing statement, promising that if his listeners do not write those letters, “this program I promise you will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow. And behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country, until, one day… we will awake to find that we have socialism. And if you don’t do this, and if I don’t do it, one of these days, you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.”

CRACKPOTS

Medicare is for the elderly retired, Medicaid is for welfare recipients , Illegal immigrants and the poor who qualify for it, Medicaid is paid for strictly with tax dollars and other government funding. Medicare is supposed to be paid for by social security or part of the social security network. Hence the "Aid" and "Care" difference.

@enlytend , If we could meet in the middle on topics that is what would bring our country back together again, The constitution and democracy are not negotiable, that is the foundation of the country. but we could meet in the middle on crucial topics. the only way we can't is if don't allow ourselves to and that is where the American society is at right now, no good can become of it, everyone disliking everyone will only cause implosion from within.

An example, Gay, Trans, LGBTQ , My beliefs do not allow for acceptance of such , However, I do not hate or dislike these people, They have made a choice of free will, i do accept that, i have no ill will towards them at all. I prefer not to contribute to their cause, that's it.

We are at a very crucial point in our country, we don't have to love or even really like one another, but respect for each other will take us a long way. At this point, I feel our future is more in the American peoples hands than the governments hands. I truly feel the American people will decide our countries fate.

I feel very strongly we are no longer at a republican or democratic decision. we are at a human issue among ourselves.

You've got it. I feel the same. Live and let live. The media is horrible. Yesterday before the 4th of July non-partisan celebration, the CNN knuckleheads were speculating ahead of the speech saying Trump was going to throw out "Red meat" to his base. I mean, it's 4th of July, can't they let up on one day? Nope. They are so much more disrespectful to the office and position, that ever. You don't have to agree or like the person holding the office, but the office of President to his detractors is like a wall that graffiti gets sprayed on everyday, or dogs pissing on a tree- it's relentless. It's not news, it's hard to conceive as opinion as it's purely hate. Hate Speech imo- by the Main stream media.

This anti-Trump hate is like a religion. It's no longer logical, all emotional b.s. Imagine Obama being treated the way Trump has been? Or Clinton, Bush, etc. I remember Tip O'Neill and Reagan used to sit together- there is none of that now. Nancy Pelosi and Chuckee just throw rocks at Trump and inflame the situation. Nancy acts like she is senile, she should be removed. Pathetic. RBG has a better handle at advanced age than Nancy.

What other government funding? It’s all generated by taxes or paid indirectly by taxes.

What I said the other day about "toxic partisanship..."

For the record, I don't "hate" anyone who has a different viewpoint. I am very neutral in discussions unless someone starts with the personal attacks, which is something I won't tolerate and try to avoid getting sucked into (not always successfully) .. It makes me sad to see people "unfriending" family and long-time friends on social media over political differences ...Family and friendships are far more important.

Its like there's something in the water - everyone's reacting to emotional triggers and emotion-provoking language, and the abiltiy to discuss, compromise and reason went out the window!..

The persecution of Tommy Robinson continues... The pathetic, cowardly British authorities want to imprison Tommy by hook or by crook. The final intention is to put him in a Muslim infested prison where he will be murdered...

Violence breaks out with Police after Tommy Robinson found Guilty in London Court

The cowardly British cops are there with batons ready to beat up on native British protesters shouting "Shame on you", yet you will never see the UK cops with batons beating up Muslim gangs throwing rocks, bottles and scissors against infidels. They are too bloody scared of being called "racists"
Muslim rioters ATTACK Tommy Robinson voters with bottles, bricks in Oldham

And to top if off, the cowardly UK cops not only didn't arrest one single member of this Muslim mob, in this Video we can actually see the UK cops escorting the violent Muslim gang of well over 200 into town for several kilometers where Tommy Robinson was holding a rally...

The most cowardly part as can clearly be seen on the Video below is the Cops watching passively as these Muslims threw rocks, bottles and scissors indiscriminately at infidels, including women and children!

Amazing cowards! Too afraid to restrain or arrest the Muslims, for fear of being called "racists"

What we are seeing is something of a juvenile tactic by the media IMO

Anyone remember in school when a person would start a rumor that johnny said he was going to kick freddie's ass, so as the day goes on both johnny and freddie continue to get information from friends and class members about how they are going to fight after school outside of the gym, so they both meet outside the gym area to fight after school, who has the front role seat to the fight? the person who started the rumor, they are there to enjoy the fight that they have caused, freddie tells johnny, so you said your kick my ass well lets do this, freddie tells johnny, i never said i was going to kick your ass , freddie tells johnny your a fucking lie, because he believed what all the people had spread around the school that started with that one single person, the instigator. johnny and freedie are fucking pissed to the max at each other, so they must fight.

They have a fight with a huge attendance of school mates surrounding them, the person who intentionally started the rumor has the best seat in the house, front row and center while johnny and freddie beat the shit out of each other while the rest Ooooo and awww the ass whoopin.

everyone comes back to school the next day talking about who won the fight and reenacting the good blows that took place, all the while johnny and freddie don't know the truth that someone made them fight but it really doesn't matter because they fought each other and will never like each other, they despise each other for the rest of their lives.

All this over one persons rumor, all this so that one person could get their jollies creating a great fight for the school.

This becomes very contagious, other people start doing the same thing because they know if they start the rumor and gets around to a bunch of people it will instigate the results they are looking for.

Remember, Johnny and freddie never spoke to each other before they met each other in the inner circle to fight. had they done so, the big school fight would have never happened because they would have figured out between them this was a mere rumor and instigated to have them fight.

We Americans work and live our lives daily, when the media comes out with stuff, we take their word for it, so we react to the shit they publish, we don't act, but react. then we start venting at each other over what so and so said , then we begin to vent our frustrations, frustrations turn to anger, and here we are. at each other throats hating on each other.

We are now being takin to play with, we are the school with the rumor maker and instigator , it has become contagious to others to do the same to divide and concor.

Excellent analogy of what the mostly Liberal Media have done to the once peaceful "Johnnies and Freddies" of the world...

So who is the enemy of the people like "Johnny and Freddie" after all? Trump and so many of us have been right about them for some time now!

Media makes money through advertisers. Advertisers pay for views and viewers - online or otherwise. Media (both “sides”) create headlines and teasers that will capture the most eyeballs.

That’s where it starts.

Most of the time the actual content gives a more accurate (though to some degree biased or incomplete) story. The story will be framed for the respective audience preferences - need to retain those viewers to make the advertisers happy.

The majority of people react to the headlines without reading the content.

Then you have the “conspiracy” mongers who flat out make sh*t up.

It all gets distorted and amplified on social media - intentionally (trolls) or otherwise.
