For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

I predict it will be a painful period for the .tel people with a dramatic reduction in income for the coming 12-14 months,job losses and tears.

There will of course be some renewals as those that paid $300? will think things can only get better and will renew for one more year so there will be some income for .tel,then the majority of those will drop and 2013 is likely to be the really bad year.

But other than that no problem!

Still think .xxx will be a bigger bloodbath unless renewals are around $10-$20.

I'm just keeping the thread warm and lively, because it's been very quiet lately.
But I know people are working hard on developing their domains and don't have the time to post on the forums.

I think what's important is the team behind these new tel, co, me .looking at tel it's the worst yet.
No good trying to fix something now with new templates and video this should all have been in place at the start
They should have known what was needed not forum member hand full at that to tel them.
But I do think there forum members have done well to help telnic who are clueless

i had no idea what i wanted to do with it. it was auctioned at ebay and i paid...$. really cheap! the name with the extension made sense!

i am a coder. in all honesty, my intention was to flip it if someone wanted to pay.

i never owned a .tel, never worked on any...in fact, i never really worked on anything other than .com, .net and .org. i developed a decent .us long time ago and it did pretty well given the not-so-much time that i put in it!

i remember having owned mobilephones.A_SILLY_EXTENSION! creditcards is much better. bought it for $3 and 10 days later, flipped it for $400. so, do let me know (before declining) if you happen to get any free stuff like that!

Comes under the heading of things I wish I had not said! I also registered a MobilePhones.&$@) last year and also sold it for mid $xxx within 4 months.

Great keywords in any extension often have value.

I was just looking at the Dynadot.com .tel drops.

More than 600 dropping in the next 6 days only one with a bid,multiply that by the other registrars and those still to drop in the coming few weeks and it is going to be very ugly!

I have seen dozens of bids for .tels at Dynadot in the last few days.
