Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

I'm curious to know how many people spent $300 to buy a .tel during Landrush, and how many of those people still are "investing" in .tel

I've bought 2 at landrush.
1 sold for price over $300
1 still having it for future business

No more reg of .tel

If people know what they're getting when they visit a .tel why the move to monetize them with ads?

You can have or NOT have flash etc. on any TLD. With .tel you have no options, either as an owner or as a developer.

OpenAuth using your .tel to login? That's as geeky as it gets. This TLD was made by geeks with no concept of what constitutes a useful approach to information.

The advantage is that its a global standard and every .tel page is very lean and they share the same structure, this is its strength. People know what they get when they go to a .tel, they do not get flash and other heavy content which keeps their surf cost down.

There is also constantly new features added, now .tel supports OpenID and openAuth, this means that you can login to every site supporting OpenID by just using your .tel.

Soon next week, telmasters get their RSSfeed to .tel up and running :)

I'm still investing in .tel domains - my latest regs include

Tattoo Artist, Accommodate, Equine, Warehousing, Insurer, Postage

Geeky or not :)
This is a huge one since it also opens up for thirdparty services without having to give away any login details.

Such as twitter to .tel by telmasters

Negative or positive ? :)

Answer = Positive.

As it stands I think most of my .tel domains can sell for profit in a few years without development.

It makes sense since you can't really develop a .tel :)

On the contrary you most certain can develop a .tel by populating it with useful data - developing a .tel can also include SEO techniques - you can even monetise a .tel or complement your .tel with a sister site.

Your disinformation is really old hat and .tel developers/investors have learned to look into the future and leave the .tel critics behind in the dark where they belong

Very true. There is a huge difference between raw unfettered development and mindless propagation of a fixed cookie cutter template.

HAHAHAHAHA! you can't be serious.

Remove the smoking apparatus from the esophagus, son. Already .co has more domains in a week than .tel in 16 months.

Those .tel fanbois are getting more ridiculous by the minute.

Hi all,

I am confident that .tel is the best tld available to fit the huge need to centralize telecommunication 's entrypoints.
I just can't see how it could be more easyer to reach someone that using the .tel 's contact centralisation features.
Hope we will read one day that a .tel can be used as a single entrypoint for calling/skyping/smsing...

Nice shill article.

What's up with that Blenz Coffee guy anyway? What does he have in this? We know there is .tel advertising in his stores. Could it be something more? An investor in Telnic? Affiliate? .tel domainer?

In any event, his .tel comments are not that of some random business owner who uses .tel.

I have four from the Landrush phase. I tried to get eight, but the other four were snatched first. Hopefully, they were picked up by some domainers who think that they are going to make millions with them, so that they eventually drop them. If businesses registered the other four, I might never get them. As for new investments, I'd have to ask what you mean by investment. I think of them more as purchases because "investment" implies the intent to sell. I have no intention to sell anything except products. The TELs that I have all send traffic to my main websites. That's their sole purpose. Google seems to like them too. If I register a new domain -- any domain -- and put a link to it on any random TEL, I immediately start to see SE traffic from the major SE's within a few hours. The last part of your question was asking whether landrush people are still buying TEL. I bought one today along with getting the same name in MOBI, BE, CO.UK, TV and EU.

I think it is a mistake to see TEL as investment TLD. That's TEL's beauty. TEL is nice for business owners with products to sell, but not really valuable as investment property. COM is the best choice for domainers, not TEL. TEL has a totally different use and attacking it because it is not COM is like attacking a grapefruit because it is not a grape. It is different and this fact shouldn't be ignored.

Tell us something we don't know Acroplex. Is that the best you can do to add interesting content to the NamePros forum?

I am not here to entertain you, ecigs.net

Dot tel is dead but if you like playing with corpses I won't stop you.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be any interest... listed 8 for sale in the make offers section, including genome.tel and insures.tel - not even one pm. :)

Any other extension would have at least garnered 2/3 offers, if not more, for these keywords.

Guess I won't be renewing my .tels - specially since the .tel I use for my personal info doesn't even figure in the first 3 pages when you search for my name.
