Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Thanks MattheP, appreciate your comments

What do you think of TravelAgents.tel??

Fits the extension perfectly?? Had a few lowball offers in the last 6 months but decided to hold it for while longer..
I would maybe lean toward keeping TravelAgents.tel. As you said, it does fit the ext. The only question is what direction might .Tel be directed in as in the area of adoption, ex. personal names vs. areas of business interest (TravelAgents.tel), or will it go bust. I have a similar situation with many of my .Tel's as well (Cellular, AutoLoan, HomeLoan, Refi, Labor, PhoneService, Biking, etc.), which I am also on the fence on.

hey, i just noticed two .tel domains with bids at the current Snapnames/DomainFest extended online auction.

http://no_url_shorteners/djjNQ9

currently:

Taxes.tel - $525
Healthcare.tel - $405

(they are not mine btw)

The only .tel I have is Missouri.tel.

I'm thinking the $300 reg fee was a poor investment! Have there been
any descent aftermarket sales at all for this extention?

I'll sell it for my reg fee right now if anyone here is interested.
Still got 2 years left before expiration.

I own eFile*tel and have been getting a lot of traffic to this domain as of late (tax time)
I'm wondering if I should cash in?

About 10 hours to go in the auction and it is not looking good. Mid $xxx might be the new resistance point for premiums (which would be down from high $xxx to low $x,xxx).

One bid:

taxes.tel $525
healthcare.tel $405
lisa.tel $405

No bids:

tonya.tel $590
cellphones.tel $500
anderson.tel $380
elizabeth.tel $380
linda.tel $380
robinson.tel $380
susan.tel $380
telephones.tel $380
bookmarks.tel $300
liquors.tel $300
wagering.tel $300

Justin Henri,

There has plenty ways to raise up value of dot tel. My opinion let people who access thru webpage (port 80) direct to configured DNS. Then, let people who access from .tel software connect to dot tel page.

This would value up a lot of dot tel by using advantage of store data in DNS. Imagine, people access to hit.tel via IE connect to some site. But if they access via their iPhone app, they would access to contact directory of hit.tel.

If I understand correctly, you want mobile devices to display the .tel profile and PC users to see a site on traditional webhosting.

I think they have already said that the agreement with ICANN is that the DNS would never be open.

i'd be interested in hearing what you .tel users (please note that i'm asking .tel users) what you think of the upcoming new tel page: .telegraph newsletter

i was skeptical of the changes when henri first said they were coming, but i've got to say that i think these are good moves. i think they'll make .tel more attractive to regular users and likely will make many discouraged investors consider holding onto them for another year. it pisses me off, though, that they're coming a year after .tel came online and just as they're coming up for renewal. those of us who've been thinking about letting our registrations drop now would have to step out again on faith that these changes will attract every day users.

I personaly liked the idea of .tel as a bare bones communication tool, however if the updated proxy encourages more people to accept .tel and more developers to develop useful sites and bring .tel into the public eye then I'm happy to accept this is for the best.

This is probably the most important newsletter from telnic, these are really huge improvements.

If I were you I would be happy, this will only make .tel more popular, it takes time to implement and create these kind of changes.
Noone is forcing you to keep or speculate in .tel domains ;)

.telegraph newsletter

On the 4th paragraph it says

"AdSense Units (each of which typically hold 3 ads) in their .tel domains, see page 2 for an example."

Where is Page 2 ??

Please

Unless this can be done now, and someone can PM me the domain so I can see what it looks like.

Cheers
