More contact focused that generic .com like dn, i guess .tel is a better way to say, "hey dude, here is the pointer to my contact entryies list"
I was thinking about printing only my name & .tel domain entry point on my visit card.

Someone tells me their phone number, 991-911-9911, on the spot, number for number, as I type it into my phone, add their name and press 'Save'.
Someone tells me their .tel domain, I have to go on the internet, waste my data plan bandwidth, or wait till I get home, transfer the number from there, and their name, and what if they don't have their name on their page! Or, what if they have multiple phone numbers? How do I know which one they want me to call? Or do I call all of the numbers?
They are adding extra steps and complicating this whole process of contacting someone.
The truth is that the world of communication does not work in the way that .tel wants it to.
The only hope for this TLD is if they remove their silly 'we control everyone and everything bid for world domination' limitation on the DNS and allow the great TLD that it is (in so far as the spelling of the extension) to flourish.
Hi Nudu
When you connect a website, why do you http:// google.com instead of 74.125.43.106 ?
I mean, using dns name google.com takes many extra steps like contacting dns server, requesting dns server, hadling reponse... isn't it far more simple to use ID directly ?
If you directly use ip, it will go faster and you will not have to rely on you internet service provider DNS servers... so it far much reliable.
In fact, is their any good reason to prefer domain name to ip ?
Now, let s thing .TEL, is there any good resean to prefer 991-911-9911 to myname.tel ?
In both case, you have to connet to a network. The chance that you are using voice over ip and that you call it transfered over internet are increasing over time. more and more phone a are internet connected.
Adding a extra DNS request in the process is just a small overhead.
As the DNS strucutre is open, you could define a phone number as the default one. Even better, you could automaticly route your call to the cheaper phone provider...
Think phone numbers a RAW data, and .tel as a embeding stuff that could had metadata added value to you contact list.
Ajax is build on technologye that was there since long. .tel could be the technologye that will add added value to telecom.
Sorry for my pathetic english.
